Compact view of the items
When the number of tasks are larger than a few it is easy to lose overview. It's easier to prioritize when I see more of the tasks in the same view.

I'm using Planner in MS Teams and in list view, one task row is 40 pixels tall. Its an absurd waste of space. There definitely needs to be a more compact view.
I TOTALLY AGREE that a a compact view is needed, and QUICKLY! Am working from home on a laptop, due to Covid. When link is included, my vertical capacity for tiles is TWO. This isn't going to work.
This is the reason I can't use it. Tasks take up a gratuitous amount of space and you can only get about 8 or 10 visible at any time - the view is useless. I'd live to embrace the whole team ecosystem but task management with Planner is pretty poor, yet its a really important component.

I'm also very interested in this. I have worked a lot with Sharepoint and old school Excel lists earlier and would like to se a "list view" in planner. Its very hard to get a good overview of the tasks at the moment.
Lack of a compact card view is a significant drawback. We were looking to switch to Planner from Smartsheet but all our users don't wish to switch as Planner is too cumbersome - too much scrolling up, down and sideways required. I see max 25 cards on Planner vs 130 in Smartsheet - big difference for managing a team!
I agree this would dramatically increase the usability and readability of the board.
I completely agree. That has been the one thing that drives me crazy. For the sake of "fun" bubble graphics, there is so much blank space around each task. It is about the graphics, which gets in the way of the actual content and overview of the content. I completely agree with everyone. We need to way to truncate and squeeze out the white space in a compact view so we can look at all or at least the majority of the tasks in a more comprehensive way. The way it is now, it takes me so much longer to read through the task lists because I'm not getting the content right away, I'm spending more time reading white space and scrolling than I am comprehending the plan, the issues, are we on track and do we need to course correct.
maybe those who work on 5 things like the cartoon-like labels and task bubble, but in all seriousness, it is all window dressing. Power users need a way to view it in a much more efficient and compact way.
YES! This please!
Task list view instead of these huge labels.
Yes, there needs to be a list view similar to what is available in Outlook Tasks for all tasks in a plan, in a user's My Tasks, and across all plans for the whole organization
