View All Tasks Assigned To a Single Person
Currently tasks can be viewed by Assigned To only within a particular Project. It would be helpful to search globally in Planner by Assigned To rather than having to review assignments Plan by Plan. This change would make evaluation of workloads much easier.
Thanks for sharing your feedback.
We would like to hear more about how you would utilize this view. If you have a particular scenario or set of teammates for which you’d like to view tasks for, please share below!
The Planner Team
Highlighting from comment below..."We are not able to properly perform load balancing of tasks for employees and staff members from a global level." Love Teams but this is a big deal for everyone to understand the work of others.

This is a show-stopper for us. Our head of development refused to use Planner as a tool since filtering his employees/users tasks across all plans and teams is not possible.
We came from Trello and had high hopes for Planner, but we had to stop using it because of lack of this feature.
Right now I'm trying to develop my own solution through Microsoft Graph. Yet it has it's limitations as well, such as filtering in through queries. Filtering when querying tasks doesn't filter anything. I've got to load a lot of data into memory before filtering. This should be done on the server side, not the client side, since this creates a lot of data traffic.
How can you have a task planning app without this feature?
Why is this not a feature yet? We are not able to properly perform load balancing of tasks for employees and staff members from a global level. Managers need to click through not just several Teams, but each individual channel within those Teams, to see what tasks are assigned to an employee. It's unreasonable and far too burdensome to do so.
My scenario is:
I manage 5 project leaders involved in many projects.
Each project benefits of his own TEAM with his own tasks within planner.
I need to filter / gather all tasks by project leader to get an overview from all the task each leader is assigned to.
I need to get all informations from the tasks, including, the TEAM to which it is originally linked to.
It follows the same logic for needing the ability to view their schedules. I need to understand their workload by tracking the number of tasks they are managing, as well as how well whether or not they are meeting their due dates. Every task is not always associated with a project. However, as the manager, I still need visibility to them. If privacy is a concern, then why not allow the user to flag tasks a private, as they can with a calendar appointment?

Team Leader(Department Manager) needs to see all tasks of his/her team members even if they are in different o365 groups and plans assigned are.
It should be easily solvable with the "manager" field of Active Directory User Data,
So the manager can see all users tasks(may be in a new planner board like "my department tasks") and see the resource capacity / workload / need and possibility to priorize the tasks of their team members etc.
"Project Manager" needs to see all tasks in more Teams/Planner Plans etc.
Possible Solution : The Team owners can have a board which sums all Plans and Tasks into 1 Board(OK maybe ignore the Buckets) and similar to manager see all tasks of all members in one board...
My team needs to be able to view all tasks assigned to a specific member across all the different Teams channels in order to clearly track resources.

Such an overview of all plans would help

We would like to use Microsoft Teams and Planner to replace Basecamp, but in Basecamp our Managers are able to see all the tasks assigned to individual users across all of their jobs. In Teams/Planner, you are only able to see all of your own tasks across all jobs. The only way to currently view the tasks assigned to individual users is step through every Team and see if there are tasks for that employee, and when you have 50+ jobs it makes it extremely annoying to have to switch through jobs to look for tasks.
So I have a large globally distributed team and when I have various one to one's I'd love to pull up the topics/tasks that each of my team are involved in. To my surprise this is not possible! I can't even assign a tag (e.g. @personX) so as to filter all tasks.
If security is a concern then how about having a 'private' tasks option to allow an indvidual to decide what is exlcluded. In most cases however I'm assigning top level objectives and work with individuals to have them detail sub-tasks but want to then refer to this list.
Only solution I have now is creating a board for each individual, however this doesn't work if I need to create a task for them as part of multiple projects.
We have a Team site for every client. That creates a lot of Team sites when it is for all clients of all the lawyers in the firm. When I assign a task today, I put it out of my mind. A week from today I want to know what has been assigned to various staff members so that I may properly supervise my employees. My employees want to be able to look up what they have delegated to others.
In our team the manager wants to be able to see al tasks assigned to a person (who works on different projects: with different planners) in order to be able to help manage workloads and prioritization.
Are there any plans to implement this feature?
Sorry but I have to make a decission for our company. This feature is mandatory for project managers.
I agree, managers should have a view of all tasks by who it is assigned to and then by status. Especially need to see past due task by assigned to.
Need this as a project manager with access to multiple plans. Need the ability to see both a filterable (and searchable) list view - with filters that could be saved, as well as aggregated board and graph view. It should still be possible to edit and work on each task, in those lists and views, of course.
If this were possible, Planner would have a leg up on Trello, as this is currently not possible in Trello, to my knowledge.
Gotta say, I'm very happy with the new list view for individual plans - now bring something similar for an aggregated list across all teams that I can access.
Following this thread. Need similar functionality to be able to see how many/which tasks each person has assigned to them across multiple Plans.
Consolidating multiple Planners across Channels is very important so that we don't miss any of our tasks under any project
Same - as a manager it would be good to know how many tasks each person I manage is assigned to. Currently I can only do this if they are only working on a single plan. However, if they are on multiple plans I have to look at every single plan they are assigned to to get an idea of their workload.
