View All Tasks Assigned To a Single Person
Currently tasks can be viewed by Assigned To only within a particular Project. It would be helpful to search globally in Planner by Assigned To rather than having to review assignments Plan by Plan. This change would make evaluation of workloads much easier.
Thanks for sharing your feedback.
We would like to hear more about how you would utilize this view. If you have a particular scenario or set of teammates for which you’d like to view tasks for, please share below!
The Planner Team

Simple example, my intern, works in two separate departments with, logically two Team channels, and separate plans. Problem is I don't know the exact workload he is submitted to at a given point. So I don't really know if I can assign him another task, not without checking his workload in every single plan that he is included in. It is a big shame, the Planner tool would be a good managing tool otherwise.

+1. I review a project's tasks but then need to look at the overall load on an individual so that I can prioritise their work.

As a resource manager I need to see tasks of my team across different project/initiatives.
I think a good use case is when you have multiple planners and you would like to aggregate view the summary of each planner. Why would you do that? If you are a Program Architect/Manager, you might manage different planners for sub-projects of your program.
Planner team, you have asked the community to "Tell us more", we have. Can you provide feedback on your view to this feature please?
It would also be nice to see overlapping tasks as high loading or a conflict. Also having the assignee's name in the title only for the schedule view or even colour code them by user.
it's been 3years since this thread started Microsoft...
This would be helpful when reviewing tasks with my team members. This is my biggest reason for looking for another platform to use instead of planner
Is there any updates on this?
That would be awesome! As a team leader, currently I can't take a look at all of the tasks of my team members.
So it's not possible to get a quick overview for planning resources. So it's not possible to lead the team efficiently with teams. Especially with bigger teams it's s huge minus.
SAme here. A simple way to be team members what are the tasks assigned to them. A quick way to see who'd overloaded and/or their objectives of the week

In my company, as a Manager would help a lot to have this tool to review the tasks of my team through various projects.

As a manager of a team, I need to be able to view all the tasks of every person individually, to understand his load of work.

It would really be nice to have this option. I work in industry and have created a team for my maintenance employees and under that a channel for each line or area. within each line or area I have one or more planner tabs for project items. I would like to be able to look at this from the team level in order to see what tasks are assigned to individual team members across all channels. I am currently looking into clickUp to accomplish this, but it would be great if I could just have one platform that meets my needs. Judging by the length of this thread I am not the only one.....

In Basecamp 2, I'm able to look at everyone on our team by clicking on "everyone" then clicking on an individual's name to see all tasks assigned to that person. Would like that feature with Planner. I can't stand Basecamp, and really like Planner. But I know my boss loves that Basecamp feature to see who she needs to assign a new project to but not overload someone who already has too many projects at that time.
Agreed, this post is 2 yrs old and this feature is still not available. I would say it's necessary. What is the status?
Use case for this topic: team manager needs to have an overview of workload both in terms of scheduling and volume for individual team members who in turn are involved in various projects, many of which can be within external teams which are managed in different msplanner instances. Supporting this would be a big step forward in the development of this very user friendly tool.
We are 10 people working on our 20 projects/plans simultaneously. As a project manager, I need to be able to review and check how these plans add up on each team member. Right now, I would have to ask each member to share their "my tasks" view by grabbing as screenshot of it, which does not cut it, I want to be able to help my college re-prioritize if task have stacked up and are not getting delivered according to due dates.
We build teams and plans by clients (accounting firm). I am the Project manager. I need to see everything everyone is working on at a glance.
Maybe I feel like Sue, my employee, can't prioritize. I want to be able to see ALL of Sue's tasks in one location and then help her figure out where she needs to begin and watch her progress.
Im a PMO at my organization and this feature is super important to PMs since when we are doing group review and often we need to drill down to per person level across all projects, this is very painful to filter through each projects. Just simply not very efficient!

I think a more generic solution (that would easily meet this request) is to extend the "Filter" drop down (which already exists in the top right of Board, Charts, and Schedule views)to include a "Plan" subsection, to complement the existing subsections of "Priority", "Label", "Bucket", and "Assignment". Check-marking to filter by multiple plans would allow for general cross-plan reporting, and if all Plans were checked-marked, you could then filter by user (using the existing functionality of the Filter drop-down) and see all tasks assigned to a single person. Thanks.
