Permissions levels that block users to delete or conclude tasks
Any user can conclude, delete, alter due date and do other modifications on any task. Only the task's owner and the group owner should be able to do that.
Hello development team,
If you search "permissions" here you will see THOUSANDS of votes asking for this on different posts about permissions. If you consolidated these I am certain this would be one of your highest "asks" from users. The inability to prevent inadvertent deletions and movements within a planner is a huge problem for any owner of a large project. Please fix this! Thank you!
Yes please! Would be great to allow people to have 'read only' access, then we can widely show our project working but not worry about others messing up the content.

Permissions levels that block assing users to delete the task. In Planner Channel.
I would be good, if we would be able to assign tasks to multiple team members and allow them to close the task only for them but not the whole thing.
It would be great if we could attach a file to the comments section directly so we have a historical record of items that have been tabled at meetings. We tried to work around this by inserting a link to the relevant file, but this does not work.
Any suggestions to achieve this?

WE NEED THIS!!!
I'm attempting to leverage this for task management, and I now have a problem where not only can users delete their own tasks, but I had a member of a team, not an owner, delete a task not in any way associated to them. There is nothing I can find that would show who did it (it was a test so I do know, but in production I couldn't). There is zero accountability for nor way to restrict these actions and there need to be to make it viable.
Users can delete their own? not Good!
Also would be good if you could complete and leave on the board until the administrator deletes.
We use this for meetings and would like to see the completed ones for the week.

Yes, this should be the primary permission level of each application, if Microsoft don't consider to fix it soon the best way is ignore the Microsoft software and move to other.
Hi! You need to implement this! At the moment all tasks and especially due dates can be edited without any restrictions by anyone with access to a plan. That's weird and kicks off planner to a bottom comparing to competitors.
Guys, just have a look:
There are multiple related ideas which got 4000+ additional votes
This function would be really important, because tasks are deleted, shot down or changed again and again by mistake. Please extend MS Planner by this function. Thanks!

agreed! need this fixing
I don't know how the **** task's security level's arent implemented in a initial version,, It's totally intuitive and logical for only managers or selected members to be allowed to modify task parameters.. ******* unbelievable.

Yes Agreed with Marcelo Sonza. MS Planner is a wonderful application. But one thing which is posing a challenge in adoption is, When the task is assigned to a task owner with the task due date, task owner is able to change the task due date.
If the task owner is able to change the task due date, meeting coordinator/management would NOT come to know what was the old task due date and how many days the task is overdue.
There is no log which says, how many times, the task due date was changed.
In the comments section, when the task owner makes any comment, that is getting captured but when the task due date is changed, logs are not captured.
This has become a bottleneck in the adoption of MS Planner. We need to have a solution for this problem.
Hope Microsoft Would work on this and provide a solution.

It seems that this issue was being raised even back in 2017, but nothing has done so far. If it is not feasible by design because of its integration with so many other Office 365 apps, it would be good to know. So that I can start looking for an alternative.
