Permissions levels that block users to delete or conclude tasks
Any user can conclude, delete, alter due date and do other modifications on any task. Only the task's owner and the group owner should be able to do that.

I can't believe we need to ask for this feature.
It looks like a brilliant piece of software, but in a team of 25 individuals, some with better IT skills than others, no ability to control user rights (or provide an audit trail of what's been deleted, and by who) feels like early beta.

Without sufficient controls to limit who can edit/delete items in Planner, this app will never launch at my workplace. Please look into this ASAP.

Hello Everyone, I'm relatively new to MS Planner (Jan 2018) and I see that everyone is just as shocked as I am that MS did not bake RBAC 'inside' Planner while it was in the oven. That said, I now see where if you are part of a "Plan", you can view AND DELETE tasks that you were not even invited. I am truly dumbfounded. Can someone tell me if I have a setting set incorrectly or have mis-configured something (I am the Admin). My President and BoD are telling me to find a Project/Task Manager Solution by the end of January... no excuses. Is everyone on this thread still using MS Planner or have your found an adequate alternative? I'd be grateful for feedback. I really like Planner but the BoD won't accept these security gaps with our mission critical projects.
Thanks. -

Agreed, It's really important to add this function.

Microsoft - you need to grant us permissions as administrators to allow permission levels to users within planner, i.e. they have read only access within a task, they have full read/write access, and full ownership (similar to NTFS permissions).
Also, an audit trail of users would be ideal, i.e. we can see if a user modifies a file, deletes a file etc.

Planner will be better with few important features. User permissions and template plan or bucket.
I'm in process of migrating all projects from Active Collab to Planner, and these features are "must have". -

This would be an extremely beneficial option especially when project managing over 50 mangers. Restricting the option for them to amend a task would be huge!

Hi,
I'm trying to build a performance management frame-work within office 365 and by anyone been able to alter the 'planner' task, due date etc I am not able to monitor someone's compliance as they can amend this theirself Office 365 has massive potential for this and I am concerned this has been rushed and forgotten about please can you advise if 'planner' will be upgraded at all or am I best off looking else where for another program/App?
Thank you

I can´t understand why there is so few votes for this issue.
Nowdays anyone can modify a big plan, and anyone will know. -

This would be a very useful capability, in fact for our team essential in the adoption and utilisation of planner in our day to day work as well as project work.
Also be good to have an audit trail of such activity available to the team and not just someone with administrative rights.

The plan owner needs to be able to set permissions as to who can modify the date or delete a task. The only thing users should be able to do is set tasks to 'in progress' or 'completed'.
What is the point of allowing users to delete or modify tasks that have been set?
