Reporting with Planner
Planner should provide a quick and easy way to report regularly. For example, a view of what was accomplished during a specific week would be helpful, so a date filter and a status filter may be needed. Additionally, a static snapshot would be helpful, for reporting to executives that require information push, so a way to group projects in addition to 'favorites' is needed, as well as a way to email a snapshot of the group dashboard.
We don’t have any major updates to share at this time – Export to excel is still our first step towards delivering better reporting capabilities in Planner. You can find updates and discussion on this suggestion here:

The Planner Team

I agree reporting is must pls share the status if it is in pipeline
Please make the planner usage reports available on the Office 365 admin portal
I so agree. My team uses planner extensively to work and update projects. As a manager, I need to be able to view a weekly report that informs me of all project statuses and where we are falling short. This must be addressed.

Would like to be able to export tasks into a minutes of meeting template as a snapshot record at the time when a meeting is held to review status of tasks within a group and for specific buckets
direct reporting through PowerBI would be excellent (preferable to a two-step Excel/PowerBI export/import)
Agree 100% - planner has the potential to be widely used, but its these shortcomings that are frustrating user adoption, in my experience at least. An option to save the Charts would be good as well as an option to filter by labels or completed tasks and generate a report based on that. I can see this being an overnight success if these updates were made!

An absolute must have and currently a reason my company does not use it.
I agree wholeheartedly. Power Query and/or an export to Excel option would be very useful.
Agree with all previous comments. would be much more usefull.
If you could export the dashboard to PDF(s) for a quick hit overview it would be nice, something simple yet visually effective to communicate up with quickly
Just an export to excel will be useful
just some quick dashboard with a selection of plans (like favorites) and the ability to have better group/filters like show for user x, show by deadline.
Power Query connector would answer all my reporting needs.

If we could access the planner tasks via PowerQuery, that would alleviate our reporting issues.
