Assign checklist item to specific individuals
This would be great to have when it's a bigger task that has several folks working on specific elements of it.

One of the main reason to stay with Redbooth since Redbooth can assign checklist items or subtasks to specific members AND Redbooth can label due dates to subtasks.

This would be useful too when a task reaches a ‘stuck’ status. Others can assist with aspects to reach completion.

This is a definite requirement to make Planner usable. I can't believe this still isn't a feature?

Agree, also separate due dates for those checklist items (so the entire project can have one due date but the subtasks can have different milestone dates)

Need real assignable subtasks and a higher character limit in the checklists. Ideally could create a hierarchy of assignable substasks.

has this been picked for development yet? Or is there a better way to assign tasks

Yeah, if you look at Azure DevOps tasks, you have user stories and child tasks (parent-child relationship). Each user story and each (sub)task can be assigned to different person, with different due date, comments etc., this is missing in Planner for proper Agile management..

Agree. Assign checklist-tasks to one or more @persons, with a due date, And make a task a subtask. Possible to view it all in layers in a gnat-diagram or a report-view.

This is necessary to allocate work effectively. I need to assign checklist items to individuals within and outside or organization. Is this on the road map?

Being able to re-order the checklist would be wonderful.

How is something like this missing? Every card (task) always has multiple pre-tasks (checklist items) and makes zero sense to not be able to assign @nameofperson and assign a due date.

so, are we getting the sub task?

This would be extremely helpful, in the absence of the ability to have a sort of task/sub-task relationship as another user has mentioned.
Why this task/sub-task relationship isn't already a feature on a business oriented app I will never understand, but I guess being able to assign checklist items is better than nothing - for now.

I'd rather see support for parent/child task/sub task relationships but if I can't get that then this is next best.

Yes! We're currently treating buckets like tasks and then assigning an individual to their own tasks. It's more manual work than we'd like. I really like the reporting feature but it's not helpful being because we can't assign individuals to checklist items.

We could definitely use this feature - we're rolling out Windows 10, which has a lot of high level tasks that need to be broken down, with sub-tasks delegated to individuals. This seems like something that could be useful for many different reasons - I'm kind of surprised it's not included already.

Absolutely! This feature will make the overall plan a lot leaner and easier to manage. Please prioritize this feature!

Hi, I think this feature is vital: I work for a company undergoing a technological and cultural change over the way we manage projects. For now, we don't necessarily need to use Project Online, Planner would be enough... if the possibility to assign checklist items, specify due dates was available. Is this something you're working on?

Having the ability to set due-dates and owners of individual checklist items is vital.
Someone can own the card/phase, but the individual to-dos must be owned and assigned dates as well.
