Allow Tasks to be moved between Plans/Boards.
Currently you can only move Tasks to different Buckets within a Plan/Board. It would be very useful to be able to also copy or move them to different Plans/Boards that you are a member of.

Thank you for your feedback! We’ve improved the ‘Copy task’ dialogue so you can chose a different plan to send a copy of a task to! We’ll be exploring and expanding the ways in which you and your team can organize work in Planner, and hope this will be a helpful step forward.
Here’s an article to learn more about this feature: https://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?linkid=872349
Let us know what you think below! Thanks again for taking the time to vote for this idea.
Cheers,
The Planner Team

That is a nice first step, however please allow proper move, or complete copy of the task. (with comments, assignees provided that they are members of that project, etc.)

please enable the facility to move a task from one plan to another with all content / history included. the copy task provision is really needless if it is in the same plan.

Since the title of the request is MOVE and only in the description does it say copy or move, this should be reopened.

Copy Task is different from Moving task (This should be marked as incomplete). What have been action is Copying Task.

important feature from my perspective to move tasks from one plan to another

It would also be extremely convienent to be able to use Flow to Move tasks from one plan to another. Today I can list the tasks in a bucket using Flow but I would love to be able to move them from my "Planning Plan" to my "operative plan" using this feature.

I agree with Josh King, this feature should not be 'Complete'. It should be 'Move'. You should also have the capability of selecting multiple tasks not just a single one each time.

When you *copy* a task comments (and I'm assuming other details) are not copied. It also leaves you with a task that must either be completed or deleted.
Please add the option to *move* a task so that all details are carried to the new plan.

I agree with Anonymous. Please set to "Incomplete". Copying is not the same as moving a card to another plan. Copy does not bring with it all information either which causes more work.

Copy is already great - but this way I always have to clean up my plans manually, if I don't want to have to task for the same thing in different plans.
A "Move" function would be great!

Dragging a task would make this much better.

I can copy a task from one plan to another.... BUT, it does not copy everything.... no attachment, no assignment, no sticker.... almost useless!

are copy and move synonymous?

It would be nice to be able to promote a bucket in a plan to its own plan - much like promoting a checklist item to a task.

I agree with other recent comments, a move feature is still needed. Copy can be useful, but there are many scenarios where move is much more appropriate.

Admin, please change status back to Incomplete, since Copy is not anything like Move. Move results in one task, with complete history, attachments, comments, etc. in a new place. Copy is indeed useful. But Move is needed too.

This is done. You have to open the task, click on to top right 3-dots and select "copy task", Then you can choose in which plan you want to copy the task at.
