Would like to have source be SharePoint list but viewable/editable in Planner. OR, we need to be able to modify planner in the same way that we can modify SharePoint lists - eg add fields and so on. Failing that - a sync with a SharePoint list at the very least. Without this, our organisation, while we love the planner, will not be using it. Such a shame.

Please add this. We are getting complaints that users don't want to use either. Either make Planner better or provide a sync process.

Partially Solved : This can be done by using Flow/Power Automate (must be done for each plan)

This functionality is required, in order to make Planner a useful, integrated tool. As it currently exists, it is an interesting toy, but doesn't have enough capability to track large-scale activities.

Yes - please! I like the features in Planner, particularly the due date reminder feature. Would love to see it further integrated into other PM tools such as SharePoint task and MS Project.

The biggest differential of MS for me has always been to make the integration between its products simple and flexible .... it seems that with applications in the cloud it is not quite like that ....

We have the need to use custom metadata in existing SharePoint task list so if Planner can be integrated with the SharePoint list (source) that would be the ideal solution for task management.

Echoing many comments below: Integrating the planner with sharepoint task list and gantt chart is imperative to our teams remaining sane for task management in SharePoint/Teams. I really hope this gets unified soon.
