Ability to copy plans

Copy plan is now available in Planner’s Web App! The Planner team is excited to release this functionality and would love to hear how we can improve upon this moving forward. Please comment below to let us know what you think!

There needs to be an option to move the plan to the Group/Team of your choice. The inability to move plans makes this feature less than ideal.

would be nice to be able to copy a plan, rename it, edit the group so that it shows up under the existing plans in the new group

+1 to all the commenters that need ability to copy plans within a team - a template situation is what we need.

Our project planning is in need of what many people describe below: The ability to copy full plans from Planner across different teams in Microsoft Teams as we often work on several projects with similar tasks to follow up on.
Are you working on this?
Thanks in advance -

When sharing a task, comments files and everything related to the task should automatically update in ALL locations

We need the ability to create a template and copy it into Teams as needed so that we aren't creating new plans each time. Simply copying it to the Planner hub with no ability to copy it to Teams is not useful at all.

I can copy a plan (in Planner’s Web App), but can't I use this copy in one of my Teams?

+1 to needing attachments as well. -

This really is not complete as it does not allow for copying all aspects of a plan (though really ability to create templates is what the users want...)

Has there been any update on this? This one is a big blocker for me.

Copying an entire plan from one planner to the next works, but if I mark a task in one plan as complete, it marks ALL the tasks across any and all plans that were copied as complete. This seems to make the whole process useless. Also, I am unable to locate some plans that are made in order to copy tasks individually (which seems to prevent the mass completion).
It's a good service, but still needs these things tweaked!

We need copy Teams created plan as well (urgently). Please reference:
and
At the end of the second link (the blog), there is not of adding the copy plan feature for Teams-created plans (ie, copy a Teams Plan to the same team or to another team).

Need a true template function to create a copy of a base plan into an exiting group / Team at the channel level (ie, different channels need the same basic plan / tasks but not on a shared Planner...all individual). Essentially, the copy function does not seem very useful if only one Planner can be assigned to one Group.

Really need to be able to copy within, or across Teams in order for this to be useful for us. We have several teams that are working on projects that have the same general flow, and it would be incredibly useful to have a Planner "Template" we can copy to each Team each time they start a new project.

This function should have been released from the beginning, to not have it in place is an enormous oversight which is (clearly) causing massive disruptions for businesses. What did you think people would do...... copy hundreds of tasks to new plans one by one every time they wanted to duplicate a plan within the same team?
This needs to be an available function, this application is basically beta without it.

quite useless if you can't copy over assignments or attachments...

Am I being silly here? SO the plan can be copied so that I dont have to recreate the plan from scratch (a template), only I cant reuse the plan in the same group or across another group? We have a Project Team that undertakes very similar projects (each is assigned their own channel), but cant copy the plan to use in the new (project) channel. This is really weird. Please tell me I am being naive and this isn't the case? Otherwise I would suggest this isn't "Completed"

Just found out about planner and this could be a really useful tool, but I am finding it cumbersome for managing the same tasks/projects across individuals. In my department at college the teachers all need to complete a set of the same task/projects over the year and these tasks need to be assigned individually to each teacher. I want to be able to create a bucket that includes all the tasks my teachers need to do over the year and copy and assign the bucket of tasks to individual teachers. This way I can monitor and track their progress individually. The only way I can find to do this is to create a bucket for each teacher, copy each task individually to each teacher and then assign each task in each bucket to the relevant person, this is taking a very long time. Is there a way to assign all tasks in a bucket to either an individual or group of people?. Also is there a way to do a group distribution of tasks across other buckets, similar to the OneNote 'distribute section/page' function. This would really enable a greater use of the planner, to not only manage groups of projects within the team but also be able to monitor individual tasks that everyone needs to do more efficiently.

Copy a plan and select the group, and have attachments carry over. We spend so much time uploading/attaching documents only to have them go to waste!
