Add new progress descriptions
The progress descriptions are too simple. You should be able to create new ones, like planning, design, testing etc.

I believe, even in the lack of uniquely customizable entities, that a couple more standard entries would be highly valueable to add in the interim. On hold/waiting and Cancelled (though this is really an alternate completed status) would be the two at the forefront of my mind that would be useful across the board for most orgs

We need to be able to add additional progress steps. Only having "not started", "in progress" and "completed" is insufficient.

Hey @Paul Dyson, could you also suggest the possibility of setting a default view, for example, grouped by "Progress" instead of Buckets?

Agreed. The ability to add custom 'progress' field labels is imperative to making this useful.

We're currently using the buckets as a way of knowing the stage of each thing, but it would honestly be great if we could instead use the bucket for organizing the activities and change our progress description to stuff like "to-do", "working", "pending review", "pending approval" and concluded.

Completely agree! Some tasks are simple and warrant simple progress descriptions. Others are more complex and warrant more complex progress descriptions. You should be able to create your own. Other task/project management software like monday.com offers this option.

Yes I think people will not choose to use it it it does not get fixed. This is the number one feedback with us.

Being able to create your own progress steps would be the best option.
If not possible, at least have say 6-8 Progress options that can be renamed.
eg
1- Not Started
2- Progress 2
3- Progress 3
4- Progress 4
5- Progress 5
6- Progress 6
7- Progress 7
8- Completed -

Yes!!! Canceled and On Hold are needed. I don't want to mark a task "Completed" if it wasn't really finished and instead deemed not needed (canceled).

This is required. Our organisation needs "Waiting on Customer", "Waiting on Vendor" statuses. These aren't necessarily always "In Progress" It's too broard.
Please add this functionality.

This is a main reason we stopped using MS Planner (and MS Teams as a whole). A project management / task management app without basic statuses like "On Hold", "Dependent", "Pending Review" or a custom status option one can set for different teams is unfortunately very useless to us.
