Add new progress descriptions
The progress descriptions are too simple. You should be able to create new ones, like planning, design, testing etc.

Our team definitely would need Review and Ready to alert different touch points of approval for our projects.

@microsoft - This is a need! I am evaluation other planning tool options (Monday/Wrike) because I can't customize the progress groups to fit my business/team. I would prefer to use Planner.

@Microsoft when will you implement this simple feature that is absolutely necessary?

Yes please. Most organizations have more than one step within "In progress." Being able to add custom steps would be great @microsoft.

Almost 1500 votes and no recent comment from @Microsoft ?
It shoudn't be that hard as the current progress is based on the value 0 - 100.
That should give us 101 possible progress states to work with... -

Agree, it needs to be editable so optoins like "submitted", "ready for review", "under review", etc. can be added.

Three options is too simple as majority of tasks have more than three stages of progress. Adding just two more options and the ability to rename all the options would aid communication and efficiency.

agreed - Needs an option at least for On-Hold and Under Review or Postponed

The easiest at least from my opinion would be, to make the title of the status per created planer editable. This means that there should be at least 8 status fields with free configurable naming by the owner of the team.

I really would love to have more flexibility, because we could use this for agile improvements. Currently we need to use buckets for creating a kanban view, but want to use buckets for different topics of the tasks - like it's intended.
So, let us create our own progress descriptions (with the ability to filter and reorder the plan using these).

I'm so looking forward to this feature. An answer from the Planner Team would be much appreciated :)

Agree, "Meeting Scheduled", "Meeting Held", "Follow-up Needed" etc. would help.

On hold, cancelled are at least needed.

Agree. Percent Complete is much better than "Not Started", "In Progress", and "Complete"

i would like to add a progress option "On Hold" or "Paused" to clearly show progress of my task. otherwise, they are all "In Progress" which makes me look like a mad multi-tasker.

I agree with everyone here, custom progress items is a must and has been requested since 2017, as a developer myself, it really is frustrating to know that they don't care as this wouldn't be too hard to add.

Why does such a simple development still not come. I need additional cases like Invoiced, Pending Approval. We sit down and write the same program in a week.
