Please link Tasks to Outlook (desktop) and also allow users of MS Project to open them in that.
When a Task is assigned, have Planner sent the email alert in the form of an Outlook Task Request (when the request is Accepted, Deferred, etc.) and it sits in the User's Outlook Task list -- have the ability for them to update progress within MS Outlook (desktop) itself -- and let that update Planner.
(Similar features were available as far back as Outlook 2000 without a centralised server system. Now we have cloud, please bring back these features without worrying about MS Project Server / Online sales -- instead, make those "enterprise level" services...)

This is a component just accessible for the membership customer – so don't hope to see this in Project Professional 2016 on the off chance that you own the ceaseless permit. The new connection empowers you to https://dissertationeducators.co.uk/ interface an errand in Project Online to a Plan in Microsoft Planner, expecting you have an Office 365 membership that incorporates Planner. How about we investigate and consider how you may utilize this.

I prefer something like this https://www.praguepost.com/lifestyle/ideas-on-creating-an-attractive-profile but not Outlook

Also, have a look at www.applepark.co.uk/p2o for Project to Outlook integration, it might help in the short term whilst MS are looking at this in Planner...

Look at this software.
It synchronizes MS Project with a calendar or to-do list and automatically sends updates.

I already posted in the allow export to Excel. Same reasons. I cannot understand for the life of me why Microsoft is still creating products that do not work with other Microsoft products...Project, Excel, Outlook, PowerBI....REALLY????

Tasks are already in Project Online, turning projects into groups in Project Online would auto links tasks to Planner.

Would love to see an assigned Planner task show up in the assignee's Outlook task list. This would reduce or eliminate the need for all of the notification emails.

I like this option, but I would set it up as a setting so you can have it create an Outlook task or not.

What about the ability to create entire plans from an MPP? That is what I could definitely use.

sync the tasks with outlook and projects would be awesome. i dont wanna create and update the status of a task twice, in planner with the nice online GUI and in projects for management and booking my times..

Tasks should be linked to the outlook desktop tasks, another place to store tasks is unnecessary.

Planner already offers the integration with your calendar and it maintains a task list, I'm personally not interested in using email to trigger anything, a collaborative tool like this should be used to reduce email clutter.
If Microsoft offered an API, I'm sure people could get things linked to a variety of task-list type applications, all without the need for email as the pipe. Personally I think going into Planner to see your task list is the right solution as opposed to wanting them in multiple places but an API would let you do it either way.
