Option to create custom fields for tasks
How it works: In the planner settings, you can create and customize the field and then select which projects it will be available, including the "all projects" option. Each task created now will have the new custom fields avaliable inside the card.

We’d like to add custom columns to Planner, but don’t have anything planned at this time. We’re working on three big initiatives that are landing later this year (stay tuned!) and will likely start work on recurring tasks soon after.
Please continue to vote as we utilize UserVoice heavily to order our product backlog and will adjust regularly if things change!

This is definitely a must. Some task can be cancelled or put on hold. Need this status so we don't need to refer to the notes.
How could you not have this? It's impossible to use the product without having this which makes me search for a different product

I would like the statusfields to be customizable to add more status types ( for example: waiting for answer, deployed. etc). This would free the buckets for a further organization layer, for example in sprints. The ability to switch from Bucketview to Statusview would become much more powerful this way. I am not sure this is covered by this proposal or is something completly different.

Something flexible would be the best.
If your looking for examples here is our project structure :
Potential / Canceled / Ordered (To be started) / On going / Done / Finished (Invoiced)
(my vocabulary might not be the best as I'm not a native English speaker).
Please note that as it is right now, some status have special effects. In my exemple, Finished and Canceled should hide the task.

Essential for Scrum and Kanban, where we also need Backlog separate from To Do.
It would be great to have other project management statuses customized by the manager.

Yes, need that feature. defeats the purpose to collaborate and not use this because of custom fields. else have to use some other tools.

It would be great to have the ability to add some custom fields such as priority ranking for tasks, task budget cost, tasks actual cost and percentage complete.
Also it would be very handy if we could export the data from each planner, including all task info, so we can build customer KPI reports/charts other than the single report/view provided.
Planner has so much potential and we are finding it very useful in our current project.
As long as adding numbers for estimations to cards, you may want to use this Chrome extension: https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/estimations-plugin-for-mi/opojklifmgglalpfgbhfnocboncbfcdj?hl=en-US
If you add estimates in brackets to the card's title, the plugin will highlight this number and sum the numbers of a column. Of course, this is just a work-around, as long as Microsoft doesn't add extra fields for estimates.
