Please add "Search" Task in order to find a task quickly

Thanks for the feedback on the Filter menu and cross-plan search functionality!
Next we’d like to pursue widening the Filter metadata to include other fields like assignee, description, and checklists. We’re also working with a search team in Office to align with UX and functionality across Office 365.
This work hasn’t been scheduled yet, but we will update this thread as soon as it is.
Please continue to share details on the filter and search functionality you’d like to see in Planner!
Thanks,
The Planner Team

The lack of a search feature is why we prefer to use Trello, but would love to have everything in the Microsoft environment! Please let us know when it will be added.

Do you have a release date for the search functionality in Planner?

The lack of this is essentially a deal killer.

Was surprised to discover that filtering by keywords only means searching for text within the Task name... not the Notes (even if the box is checked to show on Task), not the Comments, not even embedded checklists of sub-tasks. I've been using OneNote for task management for the last few years because I loved the convenience of the global search function for quickly accessing information on what I had done when, including any relevant notes I had made at the time. I was considering switching to Planner to try out in 2021 but this lack of functionality seriously works against that.

We absolutely need for Search to include the Notes field in a ticket. I can't believe Microsoft didn't do this from the start.

How can free apps like MeisterTask and Trello offer this without any fuss, but Microsoft didn't even think to add this? It's HUGE miss on Microsoft's part, and actually quite shocking considering how crucial search is to the M365 line.

This would be great especially to look for a specific task or item - similar to how it works in the teams app

If you click on Filter, the first option is to filter by keyword, this works like a search function

Really like the way Planner is heading:) but Search is a critical feature that would be very helpful.
As a work around, using the Ctrl-F Find feature in your browser can take you most of the way...

The planner really needs a Search function...I have maybe three dozen items across 5 columns and am starting to hit this major limitation in Planner that I cannot find items already in the plan..

The same search bar at the top that you see on the other Office apps. Why not let it search all tasks of all Plans you have access to?

Hey, guys! Are you kidding me about no having a comprehensive search option in Planner? Are you in 2020 now, or still in 2011?

I know a task exists ... but there are 1000s and I can't find it without a search. Ahhh!

Need for more robust filtering of metadata. This is a pretty common feature in task management tools.

Needs search function ASAP - Trello has it. And it's a feature that is a deal breaker not to have
