Please add "Search" Task in order to find a task quickly
Thanks for the feedback on the Filter menu and cross-plan search functionality!
Next we’d like to pursue widening the Filter metadata to include other fields like assignee, description, and checklists. We’re also working with a search team in Office to align with UX and functionality across Office 365.
This work hasn’t been scheduled yet, but we will update this thread as soon as it is.
Please continue to share details on the filter and search functionality you’d like to see in Planner!
The Planner Team

A search bar is available on mobile app, but not on web app. This needs to change. It is difficult to search for plans.
Can't even believe the basic feature is missing! Are you planning on the organizations using MS Teams as a secondary product and not put most of their business on Teams? If you have thousands of tasks on planner, how do you envision user to find the one that needs to be worked on? I vote for this basic feature to be a top priority.
My organization recently adopted Teams and I've been trying to use Planner. It's so sad that Planner has no search function. Unbelievable that the developers haven't even scheduled this work one year later.
How about being able to search of filter plans, instead of having to scroll through them all.
YES! full-text search across all plans
AGREE!! I need to be able to search by keyword from the Planner Hub.

I concur a search bar at the top would be great. Having to pull down the filter is an extra step.
It is imperative to have full-text search across all plans. I am part of 40+ plans. Many users in the organizations to whom I consult are easily in 10-20 plans on average. To Do helps, but many of us manage people so sometimes we aren't even looking for tasks assigned to us. This is a really critical feature - and it should be a part of the SharePoint search results as well.

Search bar in the top of the interface would be more useful than one hidden in the filter menu though
Search in a and/or multiple plans. Also, when using search on the portal/landing page of O365 this should include plans.

Unbelivable the Microsoft doesn`t offer a proper search across plans. I`m part of 23 plans.

I'm a lawyer and I just started using Planner to track my caseload. I've LOVED it so far and entered all my caseload into it . . . but the lack of a SEARCH feature is a huge black spot on an otherwise excellent tool. It is such a problem that if I find something similar to Planner that has less functionality, but has a Search feature - I will drop Planner without hesitation. A Search feature would save me hours.
Fellow MS Planner users. When you look at the fact that this thread was started 4+ years ago and the development team initially responded some 3 years ago, and people are still asking for *proper search functionality* in this component, it does not leave much hope. It is shameful at best. Being able to filter on the title only does not cut it.
Please add a full search.
A Search funcitonality is a must-have for any serious use of the tool.
It feels strange requesting such a basic feature.
Planner is proudly stading apart from all the competitors, unfortunately for the wrong reasons...
I know I'm echoing other comments already made, but the lack of even a simple search function is seriously hampering my use of planner. I spend more time scrolling through tasks trying to find the right one than I do updating or adding tasks.
Desperately in need of proper search functionality in Planner. I put a lot of information in description that I need to search on. I'm shocked it still isn't there already.

Without full text search across all plans, we as a group cannot migrate from Trello to Planner. Or is there a practical workaround?
Will this feature be deployed in the next release? If so, when is the release date? Please respond. My team has been asking for an update. They fairly like Teams capabilities, but started researching other tools that would provide the type of functionalities to help the team manage its daily activities.
Any Update here?
