Please add "Search" Task in order to find a task quickly
Thanks for the feedback on the Filter menu and cross-plan search functionality!
Next we’d like to pursue widening the Filter metadata to include other fields like assignee, description, and checklists. We’re also working with a search team in Office to align with UX and functionality across Office 365.
This work hasn’t been scheduled yet, but we will update this thread as soon as it is.
Please continue to share details on the filter and search functionality you’d like to see in Planner!
The Planner Team
What's preventing you to add the sharepoint search bar?
Just used Planner for Remote PI Planning - across 250 bodies and over 400 and boy did I need that search capability!!
Please get cracking as this an absolute must

I believe 'search' for txt string would also be needed.
We may have multiple plans and not quite sure which refer to specific subject, e.g. company.
Writing in the string, like 'microso' should search and display ALL data written in Planner, across all plans then we could further refine search criteria.
I agree with opinions: this is critical functionality.
A simple free text search inside planner as a start but a global search across all O365 tools would be a good next step.
The ability to search is critical. We need to be able to search for any keyword across any field in all plans across all tasks (active and completed). A thorough search is crucial to any function.

Microsoft - please be transparent and give us at least some progress status update.
Silence is simply rude towards the people paying your bills.

Would help, if you can provide a feedback about the date. Would help to determine, whether to use planner or basecamp (with extensive search capabilities) going forward.

Is there a projected completion date for the search function? This would seem like a pretty important project. I may need to switch to another planner program because of the inability to search across plans.
For god sake! has "PARTIALLY COMPLETE" moved to complete since August 12, 2019?
This is ridiculous.
Please finish this!

It's ridiculous that a MS product does not have a search function.

We've been forced to switch to using Planner instead of Trello. I much prefer Trello right now!
One of the greatest bugbears I have is that the filter / search only works with the Card / Task / Plan title and not the other content and comments within them.
Please make the search / filter work with the other content of tasks and not just the title!

The ability to search is there but it's missing a glaring issue. It is suggested that we use the Filter option, which works great, except, this filter option doesn't search on completed tasks.
Need to be able to search tasks within Teams!
Pease add Search in Planner

Planner Team, are you really doing any useful work? We are considering dropping the use of planner because of the Search Option. How can we find information when we can't search. There are pilling data that can't be easily retrieved without a search option. This should be an immediate priority before going into developments that will be in no use if no one will be using your platform due to the fact that it lacks the most common and important tool of SEARCHING.

Pretty disappointing that we still don't have a simple key-word search option in Planner (even within a single plan)...especially given the age of this thread and the number of votes. This should be made a priority.

Would it be possible to expand this to include Planner Tasks in the scope of the TEAMS search function? (i.e. when searching Teams (messages, people, files) include also Planner as part of the search.)
Quite disappointed that there is absolutely no news about this user's need. Search ist a basic functionality in simplest task- and project management tools. Furthermore it is asked by many users already for years...
It would be nice to filter for labels across plans to see the big picture. For example, all plans could use the green label to indicate financial expenditure. Filtering for that label would allow a user to see all spending considerations across the organization. Even better if the user could then manually prioritize/sort cards within that filtered view and save the view.

I can't see anything on this in the Roadmap.... https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoft-365/roadmap?filters=Planner
I really hope we see this this year. Planner works pretty well for us but a Search function would make it much more user-friendly.
