Please add "Search" Task in order to find a task quickly
Thanks for the feedback on the Filter menu and cross-plan search functionality!
Next we’d like to pursue widening the Filter metadata to include other fields like assignee, description, and checklists. We’re also working with a search team in Office to align with UX and functionality across Office 365.
This work hasn’t been scheduled yet, but we will update this thread as soon as it is.
Please continue to share details on the filter and search functionality you’d like to see in Planner!
The Planner Team
Is there any plan to allow tasks be searchable via the global search?
This is getting ridiculous.
Please implement a search function, it's pretty much a basic feature of ANY product...
We are going to have to move back to Trello, because without the search function it has become very hard for us to use Planner. The team members are naturally migrating back to emails for communication instead - arghhhh!
This needs to be comparable to Trello, GSuite, etc. where you can just search your stuff. No need for a filter. We just need to be able to search our card title and content.

I think making this a top-level item without having to first click on the "Filter" menu to get to it would make a lot of sense for Planner. My user expectation is built around web apps like Trello and Gmail which make text search a top-level feature, and the primary way I find stuff in those web apps.
absolutely neccessary! it's just not intuitive to search now.
Same here, we have more than 60 projects at a time. We need to be able to look up a project quickly. And, as mentioned in other posts, be able to view tasks x-plans (for e.g. Employee of the month...)

Under the "search" banner it would also be useful to search for plans by plan title via the 'View All Plans' in the planner hub. Currently you can just browse through them all.
We are moving a great deal of tasks and part of our ISO plan for changes to Planner. We need a search function - can't wait for this! Voted! Please prioritize. Thank you!
Voooootttteeeeee for this....

How...does this happen? With search being so ubiquitous in today's software and a large focus of the 365 portal...how the heck does something as useful as Planner not get a search function?
Good god. Microsoft, you're an odd company some times. Often difficult to defend most of the time. Please make this a priority.
We're gearing up to use Planner (as a tab within Teams) for a big collaboration project with several hundred tasks... the inability to search is crippling to say the least. Very disappointing.
It blows my mind that there is NOT a search function! I've just spent an hour setting up Planner for my work as Microsoft is the official tool - I usually use Trello. Can't believe that there is not a search function in Planner, makes it essentially useless if you have more than a few tasks!!!!

Agree with all suggestions, particularly searching descriptions, comments, and COMPLETED Tasks. Removing Completed tasks from everything is very limiting for management/tracking purposes..
Planner team - when is this feature targeted for release? Have been waiting for it.
What is the status of this? It seems that it's been in the queue for a long time but no real news on that.

Search feature! I pray for god every day!
What I don't understand is the status "Partially complete", while writing "the work hasn't been scheduled yet" a few lines below.
Anyway, Microsoft Planner team, missing this feature is incomprehensible, make this happen!

Planner is unusable without this.
Seriously no Search Feature? commented
Switched our org over from Trello. I did not realize that you can not search across tasks. Seriously?
When will this feature be available?
