Add functionality to create dependencies

Add functionality to link tasks with dependencies. One the upper level task is complete the tasks that are dependent on it would become active and notify those task owners.

    Being able to have the task depend on one another is a must for any planner. With project timelines always shifting, being able to change the due date and have the other tasks cascade from there is needed. Otherwise, Excel at least can do that.

    Our company uses asana and really loves the functionality of subtasks, which can be handled like the top level tasks. So this is a big argument against teams and pro asana

    Multiple generations of sub-tasks are a must! Our group wants to transition from Asana to Planner due to native integration with Teams, but better sub-task functionality is critical!

    Currently using Asana. Primarily because of the missing sub task feature in planner. Sub tasks to behave like a regular task but with a link. The regular task should show a summary and 1 record per sub task, including the assigned person and the from/to date.

    Ability to manage tasks interdependencies is the most wanted individual piece of functionality missing in Planner today

    This will never be done. They want you to shell out extra cash for Microsoft Project.

    This would be so helpful! As a Project Manager, I want to be able to stage the upcoming tasks for team members. Dependencies would be a great feature!

    This is a badly needed functionality. We are using Wrike because we can't create dependencies in Planner.

    This is a feature I love about Trello. I image you can link cards in the attachment section or having a separate 'link card' feature.

    This is one of the features that would change the way this allows teams to work.
    A dependent task, with a due date and a notification to the assignee (or something on the task that identifies as being a dependent task)
    Conversely, the task on which it is dependent should know that there are tasks which cannot be completed until this one is complete.

    Yes, please! Linking, assigning subtasks, including due dates for subtasks would be really useful. As such it is difficult to use Planner to anything more than simple "Do this one thing" tasks.
