Add functionality to create dependencies
Add functionality to link tasks with dependencies. One the upper level task is complete the tasks that are dependent on it would become active and notify those task owners.

Really would be great to have this - several other ideas are on user voice
Important that you can create many to many relationships between tasks that way you can leverage the ability of task by task work with the visualization and reporting capabilities.
Recently used Planner for the Agile EPIC and user story structure linked to Onenote pages for a business requirement session with commercial users - worked well because its simple and does not need them to understand complex tools - at the same time I now have directly a structure that can be extracted and loaded into the real IT tools.
the ability to map the links in a "Mind Map" kind of way however would be a great help in the next steps where we can possibly deliver multiple user stories by delivering 1 IT technical source eg.

Functionality idea like - If one of the task date is changed then it will notify & will open next dependant task likely to be change the date also. This will keep on notifying till the last dependant task.

This functionality is what sets the good task and planning apps apart from the 'also available'. No-one wants to have to set due dates for every task and then have to update a whole plan because one particular task is late. Again, as many people have said this is critical to my decision to invest time in this program.
Yes please, a critical functionality.
will affect my decision whether to migrate from my current program

Strongly needed. We are currently using workaround ... but if a third party software has this with Planner why not implement it directly (at least parenting to be trackable)...
The more i work with Teams the more i'm missing this functionality
This would be really helpful. I'm strongly missing it. Please make sure to develop something in this direction!
This would be sooooooo helpful. Used this in Trello and LOVED it
I would love to see sub-tasks in Planner. I have found the Kanban board approach is a very limited and labour intensive way to manage complex projects. Being able to allocate sub-tasks to different team members would be very helpful.

Would love if subtasks within a task could have timelines associated with them instead of having to create a new task for subtasks.
Agree - much needed improvement. This would also help with task assignments allowing for breaking down assignments more granularly
Agreed - i hope we can get this enabled for subtasks for dependency

Dependency support is a must to manage tasks

Not having dependencies is a big missing. Adding predecessor would be great as some tasks are linked and one can't start until another is completed.
In the short-term, it would be helpful if checklist items could be assigned to one or more people, like the task itself.
This functionality is very much needed in the project world
Please, this is a necessity to overtake programs like smartsheets in functionality
has my vote
This is an absolute necessity so that several people can work together on a project with milestones.

So, when is the proposed 3 big ideas that could encompass this enhancement getting released to the MS planner? Please advise.
