The date format is fixed to mm/dd/yyyy, could this please be selectable based on your region - for example we use dd/mm/yyyy
As an update, since we’ve still been seeing issues around date formatting, so we’re pursuing another fix that should help: If you’re using Planner within Teams, we will default to using the same language/local as Teams.
If you’re seeing this issue persist outside of Teams and your language/locale is set properly for your Office account, please let us know in the comments below!
The Planner Team
An option to select date acc to standard, (ISO8601) should be available (in all office applications).

It has improved, but not fully solved as there are still some links from the waffle menu on the top left that are not honouring the local settings. I am getting some success if I start from the Office 365 main llink ( and don't use the waffle). Feedback submitted via the cog wheel as requested.
Still showing mm/dd
Language settings ZA

There is still one thing wrong (I have just reported it through the gear icon as you requested, Planner Team):
When opening Planner from the apps shortcut, it uses a URL which contains the language code 'en-US' instead of loading the correct version with the correct language (tested just now and it's still doing this).
As a work-around, you can change the URL in web browsers address bar by manually editing the part that says 'en-US' and change it to your actual language code (e.g. 'en-NZ', 'en-AU', 'en-UK', etc.) Then make a bookmark to that and use that instead of the shortcut from the Microsoft 365 'apps' menu.
In our Microsoft Teams Desktop App, my language settings are set to English (Australia), and when I view my Planner within the Teams app it displays the correct format (this has been working for a long time).
The issue is when using the Planner web app. My Office 365 time zone/region settings are set to Brisbane and English (Australia) respectively, but Planner still shows US format.
So I don't see any change?

Just tested it today an it still only shows US date format (mm/dd/yyyy). Clearly not fixed yet.

Hi Product Manager
I'm still getting us date formats when I use the app launcher in sharepoint and if I select planner within the app it changes me to us format. Is this really fixed?
We are based in NZ and we are very keen to know an update on this

As a work-around to this in the meantime, change the language code in the URL in your browser's address bar and then bookmark it with the new language code. I.e. change where it says en-US to en-NZ, en-AU, en-UK etc. and press enter to reload the page. Still, it's ridiculous that this hasn't already been fixed. It should of course automatically use the language based on Office 365 language settings... It amazes me that huge multi-billion dollar companies keep reinventing the wheel over and over and over...
@Microsoft - please can you define exactly what you mean by "working hard to implement it quickly". All your non-US users have been waiting nearly 2 years for this, so please keep us more regularly updated.
Microsoft has demonstrated that they are incredibly incompetent. They have also shown a total disregard for the voice of their users.
Ever feel like no one is listening?
What is the status - this is completely crazy that we - working in Europe have to deal with the US date set-up! When will this be fixed???!!!! - You were working ******* this ONE year ago!!

Well... it's been a year now

I always use the team app in windows and it's working for me.
I thought this had been fixed? I changed mine via settings and it's worked....
I clicked on my profile pic, then settings, then it opens to the general tab - in this bit you can select the "Language" and under "App language determines the date and time format" I chose English (United Kingdom). Am I missing something sorry guys?
It has taken 2 years for Microsoft to realise that they have a global customer base who use different date formats....wow
Hi 'The Planner Team' - any update on this?
I see a lot of questions in forums, and the first response I often see is submit your question in User Voice. As such I would expect that everything posted here would be frequently looked at and an update provided periodically even just to say we are still working on the issue, etc.
This one (like many others) hasn't had an update since 5th Feb 2018 :(
Given that I believe only 1 country in the world uses the reversed dates, the decision to fix format to US one is an interesting design choice. Please fix it based on format selected in the O365 settings.

Hopefully released soon!
