Include Task Priority

Hello All! The priority feature is complete! Priority is rolled out to production across the Web and Teams. It’s also available in the mobile app an in the beta endpoint for the MS graph API. We’ve also updated the charts view to include a priority chart .
Please give it a try and let us know what you think! If there’s something you’d like us to improve upon, please find and vote on that suggestion or create a new one so we can prioritize accordingly.

Add a field on each card for an alphanumerical priority which each bucket will automatically sort by

Wold be great once we have the Task Priority to also have the ability to sort by the priority within the bucket.

Some people have suggested using tags for this, but then you cannot use them to differentiate types of task. We need BOTH.

why was it not included in first release. Thats the first thing for any task...

You can add priority by clicking and dragging tasks up and down the list.

This is by far the most important feature for a task based application.

You can already add colored labels to task items. It's a way to indicate importance.

priority should be customizable
additional: would be great, when tasks can be sorted by priority and color setting can be configured for each priority

Agreed. Something as simple as "critical," "high," "medium," or "low" would add tremendous value - especially when sorting and reporting on tasks.

Priority or just a field that we can use for sizing with scrum. it would be nice if we can just have 2-3 fields that we decide what to use them for. Whatever you do, please provide the ability to sort a group by these fields.

We use scrum, so priority and sizing of items are two obvious data field gaps on Planner as it stands today. We can use the ribbons for sizing (sort of... there aren't enough to replicate traditional planning poker but I've cut it back to 0/1/3/8/20/100 for now) but for priority we're having to put a tag at the start of the title [M/S/C/W]. These are workarounds though, to compensate for missing functionality.

Planner is excellent. It's important add field for investment, as a optional item.

Please add priorities and use priority swimlanes as in JIRA's rapid board (https://jira.atlassian.com/secure/attachment/60089/test1.png).

Tags aren't sufficient, first of all they don't show up in the "my tasks" view and secondly I want to know which task is the highest priority from my project manager. I may have 20 tasks assigned to me from 5 different projects, I need to know which task I need to be working on now, right now I see no way of setting that for myself or having my project manager set that for me. In fact, I can't figure out how the tasks in "my tasks" are sorted at all.

Tags are not enough, you need to be able to sort by priority like over task systems out there. Much like you can sort by status.

There are tags (ribbons) for that. Please try using that.

This will be a very useful feature. A would like add the possibility to order the task view by priority.

this was the first thing I looked for - pretty pointless without it as you can do it with outlook (or project)

We need to be able to assign a priority to a plan and then sort/view by priority in Planner Hub
