I agree. The calendar function of Planner is not very useful in its current form. All tasks should show up in the calendar automatically.
Has anyone tried inviting a plan group to a meeting notice in Outlook? I wonder if that would make the meeting notice show up in the calendar in the plan. Or if it would just send the meeting notice to everyone in the group.

+1. Would be good to get an idea of effort for a task as well as the start and end dates so this would block out time for that person in the calendar view.

I believe this is crucial if one is managing multiple group projects along with their own tasks.

I just went to the group calendar assuming this would be there. Definitely required.

They need to increase the team size , lots of great ideas are being posted but action is not happening that fast ,
How come we have to ask and give feedback to Planner team to integrate the Outlook task with it , without that Planner would be a total failure,
I think preview should be launched after that integration only

Yes please! :) We want the option for a separate project specific calendar to see tasks in calendar view so we can see how many activities we have on one day. We use this to manage all events and campaigns across DX in the UK. Those events are time-bound and we need to see them in a calendar view, specific to the project. We also want to use this as our editorial calendar to provide visibility to all the content we've published. It's high priority for us! Thanks :)

Excellent: this is one key advantage for Trello right now. Being able to view tasks in the calendar as a calendar item and edit either in the group Calendar or in the Planner would be amazing.
Note: carrying over the same preview preference to the calendar item would be excellent as well.
Thanks MS, great product!

Getting all scheduled tasks/dates to show up on one global calendar feed is essential. Right now Planner creates a separate "Calendar" (which does not display any of the created tasks - its just an empty calendar - must be a glitch) there is a limitation to overlay 10 calendars total to your main calendar. Ideal approach would be to have a "Tasks" calendar that would feed all "Plans" from all "tasks" to one calendar with active link to that task in planner abbreviation or listing of "Plan" name.

Agree this would be very useful for planning purposes, to incorporate start time and due time...

I would love to see this!!! That is my biggest issue with Outlook Tasks right now. I would really like to see the tasks show up in the calendar. Ideally I would like the see the screen split with (calendar event on one side | Task event on the other)

Totally essential, you need to easily be able to see the task timelines to know if they are achievable

Maybe even a task calendar along side the group calendar would be nice.

This is kinda essential (well it at least should have a setting that defaults to yes, but can be turned off). You are using a group to store the plan. The group has a calendar. The Plan tasks have due dates. Should be straight forward to include the due dates in the calendar?

Adding in Start Dates also would be good to build a GanttEsque Calendar View.

That makes more sense to me than bumping it to a users personal outlook task list. I like the group first focus and agree seeing Planner tasks on the groups calendar would be handy too.

It would be nice to have an include on group calendar check box.
This would really help with a high level understanding of when tasks are coming due across the team.
