Integrate / link Planner tasks to Project Online tasks and Planner plans to Project Online Summary Task
Project Online does not have Agile views of its tasks (such as vertical lists in common agile task tools like Trello, Pivotal, Jira, and now Office Planner). The lack of agile-like boards for Project Online is a huge barrier to development teams, but exec mgmt. wants the rich reporting and resource mgmt. of Project Online. The lack of synchronizing Project Online to external boards makes managing very difficult.
Seems this has been in the "backlog" for a couple of years now. However, it appears it only has 180 votes as of today which pales in comparison to other options people are voting on. I do agree it is high time MS Project and MS Planner spoke the same language bi-directionally. This is taking to long and causes double work when you have to copy tasks into buckets rather than sync them from Project or vice versus. Personally, I would love an update from MS on when they plan to implement
Ooh Yes please. Now it is possible to make link from Project to Planner, but it is only link. Nothing more. It is not enough. We need at least both-way synchronizing of tasks. Managers in our company are using MS Project and other colleagues, who doesn't need rich functions, are using Planner. Integration is more needed today than before at the COVID time.

Any updates on this?
We are huge users of Project Online - we would love for Planner to fully integrate with Project Online so we can show major tasks (or all tasks) in Planner in our Teams sites.
Integration with Project -- especially bi-directional -- would be a huge plus for us. Not all project team members need the full weight of Project. This would help with collaboration.
This would supply Project with a Kanban Line. Allows the Team to work on the simpler level of Planner but the project management to use the strategic and outlook view of project. Would be a large jump forward for the 365 suite, combining agile team planning with strategic long term project management. There is a reason why Gold partner fluentpro has programmed something like it (dont know if this works or is good)

it would be good to have a two way sync with project online, so a pm assigns you a task that goes in to a bucket in your planner that you can manage and update.
then any updates get pushed back to project online.
Three issues that would be a value add:
1) Integration with Outlook, Project, AND One Note.
2) Ability for full cycle integration: Currently, can't pull tasks forward into OneNote which is problematic since OneNote moves in one direction (from Planner to OneNote), but not the other way.
3) We need a fix for all the products to work together in the ONLINE version and the DESKTOP version.
Currently, the online components don'l all migrate to the desktop version.
We love planner, but really need the integration!
Has this issue been resolved? Can you integrate MS Project tasks with MS Planner?

Yes, a special Enterprise Project Type could encapsulate a Planner project.

Would be very nice to create a task then have it automatically create the task in the project plan so they can log time, or vice versa. This is what project online is missing....

Agreed. Linking the Planner with MS Project Online shall give the Agile features to MS Project Online and vice versa
