How can we make Planner better?

Ability to add email as Planner Task

Many time - new action items come in from clients and consultants as emails. It would be great if from the web app I could convert an email to a planner task - carry the body of the email as a note - and automatiacally add any attachments as documents attached to the task.

Look at Todoist for inspiration.

    yes, Yes, YES! I am talkin ********!!!
    Just like I can drag an email into calendar to create an appointment with the email text, I need an easy way to create a planner task from an email.
    I HATE having to copy the email text, then open planner and manually create create the task and paste the email text.
    This is a no brainer, 90% of my tasks or those I assign to a team member originate from an email.

    AGREED!!!! MUST Have. Employees refusing to use Planner until this features is there.
    Using Asana, as they have that and MUCH! more.

    I am currently doing this already using Microsoft Power Automate for when I flag an email. But would be nice to have a hot button in outlook as well.

    I believe this is important that, It needs an "Outlook Add-in" similar to Trello, very flexible where to add an how and with some details...But i guess the thinking is to flag them and see them in consolidated under "To Do". It is kind of not sufficient if it is project related etc.

    It would be very nice, preferably also with the option to send the info inside the task. Instead of only creating it

    Maybe they need using their CRM;)

    Today my company works with all Microsoft ecosystem (Dev, Marketing, Ops & Business) and is crazy that Microsoft doesn't have available a simple integration with Planner.

    If you own all components of the platform, you should be able to do this simple and fast.

    You can start doing the same integration used by "To-do"

    Agree with Mikie, I'd like to "forward" an e-mail to "attach" it to an existing task in planner in order to document the progress in planner.

    YES! similar to how you can email a channel, i would like to be able to email a planner and have a new task opened with the subject and people and the body of the email as a note or attachment.

    Would be a great feature especially if you could open the actual email so you could respond using email if needed.
