Time tracking for cards
Track the time spent on each card by each member that worked on it would be very useful, further with reports to easily consume this information.
Besides, if tasks were imported from Project (where work hours should be set by task)... time input could help to calculate the completion status.

Just 2 fields: Estimated Hours and Actual Hours

Agreed! A time stamp of when the task is completed which can be exported to excel so that the time that repetitive tasks are completed can be analysed would be really useful.

Fundamental. Can't use without a time aspect.

All we'd need is Estimated Hours/Actual Hours. Reporting could be done via the Excel export. I don't want to blow up Planner into a mini Project or DevOps, I'd like to keep it simple.
Another idea posted was to allow multiple type of fields to be added to Planner. That could cover a lot of territory - you could predefine some optional fields (allow them to be reported on if activated), and allow users to add whatever other fields they'd find beneficial.

We need time tracking on this - it's crazy not having it and I cannot believe it's that hard....

Time Tracking apps are adding planner features. Then Planner should add time tracking features.
Many of my customers prefer to use those apps instead since that is an all in one solution.
These are not users that are part of a professional Project Office, thy need basic time tracking features. Even if it is basic time tracking features for a start. -

The ability to include time estimates and actual time worked is huge. I hope it'll be added so we can adopt Planner like many of the other O365 programs we use. As an MSP, we like to recommend products to our clients that we've proven work within our organization - this would be a great add to the list.

Essential feature that would make Planner become a strategic tool
Without it, we are forced to move to something else, who can seriously manage tasks without measuring the time spent ?
Dear Planner team, thanks to consider our need -

Would be great to have a better control of the time spent. Time estimation would get better over time.
