Sort tasks by Due date

Thanks for your feedback!
With due date options in the Filter menu, and the ability to group tasks by due date category, we’re hoping that this will help Planner users find and organize upcoming dates and deadlines.
We understand there is still an ask for sorting tasks within an existing grouping, please continue to use this thread to share feedback on this.
Cheers,
The Planner Team

Hi, awesome that this task is planned! However, is it possible to get the update sooner than 18 of April? Since the technique already is built. It's already possible to sort by due date on the project level. Under Plans/Charts/Tasks/due date. However, it's essential to be able to do it on "My Task" level and that the sorting of due date is possible cross-projects.

This is huge. I'd like to see priority for what tasks need to be done first.

3rd party service is already doing this, why can't Microsoft?

Currently tasks are aggregated by status, but having these sorted by date would be incredibly helpful for individuals to action their boards.

Totally needed and critical. Re-sorting doesn't even hold. I navigate away from the task list and then return and the previous drag and drop sorting is gone.

Planner cannot scale to more than a few tasks without sorting by due dates.

Can the Planner Team provide an update on this piece? It would be helpful to be able to see from My Tasks what is due today versus in two months. I would be great if the columns were flexible, so that I could move tasks in to columns based on when they are due (e.g. Today, Soon, Later or something like that) rather than whether or not they are started. To me, My Tasks is a place I go to see what's on my plate from all plans for the day - since that's where all the tasks go that are assigned to me. I can't really use the tool effectively if I can sort it in a way where I can see what I need to do most urgently along with what's coming up. Thank you!

I have the habit to use only due dates for very hard deadlines. The rest I solve with a few tags for importance and urgence. Nothing so frustrating as fake due dates that cause overdue. The problem is that you need a smart automatic ordering formula or algorithm (Taskline has a good one for Outlook , Toodledo has a simple one that works, in Todoist you can make your own formula, ...).

Please enabvle the possibility to sort by Due date!

Can you also opt to hide tasks that are due to start in the future? That way, we can plan ahead and then 'forget' about those tasks until such time as we need to start thinking about them. That would create a very perfect app :)
Even better if it could then be integrated with Outlook Tasks. -

Great tool - Great concept but I am using Planner to manage multiple projects and need to be able to prioritize on what's due next. Ability to sort by Due date is critical!!!

Just realized you can drag and drop but that is not an acceptable solution. Want to echo absolute need to sort by due date

The default view for tasks in the Charts view should be sorted by due date, not "No grouping". Every time I open the Charts view, it is to see how users are doing on their tasks. Every time I go there, I have to change the task sort to be by due date.
Perhaps someone could present a use case where it would be useful to have no sort on the tasks in the Charts view? I can't think of one.

Sort by Due Date is necessary and also the option to sort by Start Date

Need to be able to sort task and projects by date.

This is critical. With numerous tasks open addressing the ones most urgent without going through every single one is critical. Tried rearranging tasks but when views are changed the order I had them in is changed again and reset.

AND have a way to make that sorting category the default.
