Schedule reoccurring tasks.
Add the ability to schedule tasks every day, every Wednesday, every last Friday of the month etc...

Hello! Since this is one of our top asks from users (and has been for quite a while), we wanted to provide a quick update here. As mentioned in our last update, our team has been heads down shipping some recent integrations, such as the Tasks app in teams and Tasks in Docs (both of which have initial versions rolling out now!).
Recurring tasks (and the other top UserVoice asks) are still high on our backlog. I’ll provide updates here as this feature gets closer to being shipped! We also may use this forum to reach out to you, our engaged users, with design questions we have—so stay tuned if you’d like to help us bring you the best version of recurring tasks!
In the meantime, it’s great to see so much active engagement here. We continue to iterate on our initial designs as we get more feedback from users, so keep it coming!

So original post was made in Feb 2016, MS responded with an update in Aug 2019.... I'll check back on 15th June 2038 to see if this basic feature has been added. I would do it on the 14th, but I'll be picking up my infinitely more complex flying car on the 14th.

Do it! Now! Please!
It's not like this feature is not allready implemented in all the other planning apps (Outlook, ToDo) you created! -

This is very odd. A basic feature missing, this is likely to lose Microsoft revenue, makes no sense unless some other solution is looming. Please Microsoft this needs addressing, it is a basic need!

How is such a basic planner feature not included in this tool? This just doesn't make sense. Can we please move the priority of this feature up? No point in innovating when the basics aren't even there. This feature also helps with a PCI requirement where we need standard operating procedures like health checks ect.

There is an workaround via Power Automate. But this is very bad because its not possible to create a task every 200 days. After 90 days the plan will be deactivate

we really need this. Hello Microsoft, glad that you've got it planned. I think you may have forgotten about it though.
Just sayin' -

There is a workaround for this. You can use PowerAutomate to create automatically recurring tasks. If there are other steps involved (such as sending a pre-generated email), this can also be automated as part of the steps.

This feature should be considered a baseline feature. You have it in Outlook calendars, so it makes no sense that it hasn't already been released. It is a great tool otherwise for straightforward, simple project management.

Last update on this was 18 months ago! Wow, that's a long time to keep customers waiting. This functionality is literally the most important feature this application needs otherwise it's pointless. The fact there has been no update for such a long time is shocking!

any updates on when this will be deployed?

When is this going to be deployed? It's essential if we want to use Planner to its full extent!

We need this! There's no way to work efficiently on task management without recurring tasks! I wonder why so long for what Planner Team says: "Since this is one of our top asks from users (and has been for quite a while)". Don't feel much love for that users since one of their top asks are taking years to be resolved....

We just stopped using Planner, and have moved to RedBooth as it provides the solution out of the box. Anyone who was creating a Task Management solution, just had to look at all the apps out there and create something that's a sum of all the good things and beyond, not go back in time when this was first transferred from a physical notepad to a computer.

Sad thing indeed. I set up a big project with planner because I thought a task manager application will have this feature by default but for my surprise it does not. It is like a brand new watch that do not show the minutes. Microsoft should have known better. We are now back using another tool.. Please you have a great company and great products. I know you can do that please Guys you have to a good product here, do not abandon your customers.

This should have been a top priority to be added to the planner. Having to record the same task over 52 weeks is just painful. If this Recurrence is not launched soon, I will just flip back to Outlook and MS project and drop MS Teams
