Thank you all for your feedback and votes on recurring tasks!

Our team is still in the design phase of this feature, but it’s on our roadmap and something we’re looking forward to bringing to life in Planner.

The information you’ve provided on how you would utilize recurring tasks has been extremely helpful. We reference and point to our UserVoice forum constantly! If you haven’t already, comment below to let us know how you would like to use recurring tasks.

    Cheers,
    The Planner Team

Yeah, this is kind of ridiculous. How long does it take for Microsoft, a giant in the industry, to update a basic, much needed and very expected feature into a task managing system such as planner?

...and yet 3 years later. Still we are looking for basic functionality in Planner. Come on people!

Key for Outlook Integration. We need to set reoccurring tasks, as well as being able to set a specific time of day, as some task are time specific.

This is a basic tool needed for tasks that recur weekly, monthly, daily, annually. Much needed!

      • PE commented  ·   ·  Flag as inappropriate

Just now it takes longer to create all the weekly tasks as it would take to just do it or delegete as we have done in the past.
To copy is not the same and I have to assign it again.

I happened onto a dropdown of Status of proposed ideas for Planner. The sequence appears to be as follows: Thinking about it, Tell us more, Planned, Scheduled, Started, In development, Partially Complete and then, finally Completed. Schedule Recurring Tasks is at the Planned level, the third level of 8 to get through. Don't think this feature is coming any time soon. Looking for an alternative...…...

Dear Microsoft team, Please be fast to introduce basic features of planner. It will be really helpful to us. Voting is Ok for few additional features but recurring task has KANO status as 'Must be'

The best way for a Monthly control (for examples), not to be forgotten, is to be reminded by a recurring task. It exists with outlook. It would be kind to imlement it in Planner.

Can the Planner Team provide an update on the status of this request?
As others have mentioned, the lack of recurring tasks is the biggest blocker to our adoption of Planner. This feature really should have been available on day one and as such needs to be at the very top of the priority list at this point.

This is the 4th most requested item... and it's just 'planned'. Come on. Are you really listening to your customers?

      • RB commented  ·   ·  Flag as inappropriate

This is required for us to leave Dodoist (which has this feature). What is the status on this? Still just planned?

Microsoft get on with it, this is absolutely essential. We've started a trial period with office for business, but missing features like this can become a dealbreaker.

Wow! 2019 and still no recurring tasks feature. Is MS Planner destined to be another piece of MS bloatware struggling to maintain relevancy in a sea of open-source options?

No? Then you need to prioritize this above literally everything else infesting your kanban. Wake up MS.

In terms of functionality, something similar to Outlook Tasks would be a good start.

It would be extremely helpful to be able to set recurring tasks (Monthly, Yearly, Daily, etc)

      • Gabriel commented  ·   ·  Flag as inappropriate

Please please please please please pretty please add this feature.
This is a huge blocking issue in order for us to use it.

we have several task that needs to be repeated every week , every month & hence would like to have a robust funtionality to define recurring tasks to Planner and time of day to complete / expire.

Any update on this feature please? I would love to move all of my tasks across from Asana, but it is just not user-friendly nor productive without being able to create a recurring task. Thank you.
