Hello Pawel,
I have a need to migrate Planner tasks. I was thinking of export and import. Your idea of using Flow (Power Automate) sounds good. Is it possible to share some details with me?
Thank you. -

Every time I try to integrate Teams into our planning I find something missing. Without upload/update from Excel from our backend data, Planner is of no use. I refuse to buy 3rd party software to accomplish what should be availabel.

Definetely! Dear Planner Team , pls pls pls support this thread. Comments in here are only the tip of the iceberg. Many people would love this flexibility on the planner.

PS: I can easily import data from an Excel sheet to Asana - why not Microsoft to Microsoft (like with all the other Microsoft apps.

I am planning to work on Planner with my whole team but not being able to import data into planner from an existing spreadsheet is going to hamper implementation and buy-in - it will make my life so much easier to be able to import. Please make this available!

in the meantime I created Flow (power automate) which reads excel file, and creates bulks tasks.
I use it for recurent (weekly) tasks for my team.
I am not sure if it will be easy to implement for those who completely do not know power automate, but I suppose with basic knowledge should be possible, If sbdy interested - you can let me know (but I am not sure if will be able to answer/help quickly) -

Please, this will be so much easier to use if we can import from Excel etc. All other Microsoft apps have an easy Import/Export function - why not planner? Please update asap. Thanks

100% no brainer we should be able to IMPORT an excel list. You should create a TEMPLATE that we can download (All the headers) and we can add all tasks, priorities, assignees, buckets, etc. then UPLOAD the template. Each of our departments can much easily manage their templates for projects via excel then we can import the updated template to launch future projects from. If you can export to excel, seems you should be able to IMPORT as well. This would eliminate our need to keep with our current TaskRay/Salesforce accounts.

Nice app. But, without a data migration feature (raw data import), users will be slow to adapt.

please add! I want to use this funcationality to transition from Asana to planner but this is a bummer....

What are your timelines for making the import functionality generally available?

honestly, with the focus on integration being high on the agenda, i don't see the point in Planner if i cannot import info.It seems a no-brainer to create procedures/tasks that can be imported ad then reused from year to year. this is killing me.

Hopefully my vote for this feature will count here. Trello is great, but my org adopted Planner as an enterprise solution. I can burn time manually copying. Also, I export a whole year of tasks at the end of the year and would like to import tasks into a bucket when that month comes around again. Definitely need this!

Please add the feature import tasks to a bucket. It will be the reason to use or not use this app.

I was moving away from another system and now am reconsidering because you can't import tasks. Has this been fixed?

Honestly, why was an import feature not included from the get-go?

Key feature, would be handy to assign a task to all employees, such as "Familiarize yourself with the Covid instructions."
This isn't necessarily an import feature, rather could be "create task to all O365 group members."

I really could use a way to import tasks into Planner. At some point, we may be migrating and not being able to import can significantly impact that migration.

This is such an important feature. It would allow many people to easily transition away from their current task/ project planning system to MS Planner because most other applications have the capacity to export to CSV at a minimum. Huge market opportunity you guys are missing and huge pain in the butt for those of us whose workplaces are forcing us to shift away from our current approach without any means of importing huge quantities of work into Planner. Please help!!!!
