Import tasks from excel
Import an Excel workbook into Planner to bulk create / edit task
This is definitely needed when we have list of tasks to be performed by individuals across different teams from different geographies.

This feature is desired so much. We have a yarly plan of purchase request issue and would like to set notifications for the people in charge in due dates. Manual creation is a hard task. Bulk upload would be so helpful. Thanks.

Would be very beneficial to be able to import excel file to the planner. Ideally complete "round robin" ...download from planner then update and import. tks Noel
Yes, please, this is so so SO needed! My team has worked off of excel checklists forever and one of the largest hurdles I'm having getting everyone on board is how time-consuming it is to create our templates in planner from our excels.
Definitely need a way to import a planner from an excel export, understand it may be difficult to implement for and existing plan that doesn't match the exported one, but could you at least expedite the possibility of creating a New plan based on the exported one (my use case is: we exported a complete plan from our system, will be delivered as evidence to the customer, who would also like to continue the work we started, therefore building a new planner based off of that excel export would be ideal)
If we can export the entire Planner board, why can't we import? Planner should be able to import its own export.
It's the year 2021, one whole year after we've been working virtually and you still haven't implemented this basic feature? Get it together, people!

The time required to set up each plan is the number one obstacle for us to get our team using Planner. This import from Excel ability could make the difference.
My exported plan in Excel could be set up to use variables to make the plan specific and complete. Normally, one would copy a plan and then edit every single task - contacts, assignees, due dates, -- the dozens of tasks in the plan have to be manually, individually edited. However, all of these things are based on a small set of variables - deadlines are based on project end deadline or event date, assignees are based on a subset of members for this specific plan, contacts that are most current apply to many tasks. I hope use an exported plan in Excel to incorporate these variables into plan fields and then import a values-only version of the plan sheet into Planner.
For example, an event date could be given in a variables sheet, and then all the task deadlines throughout the plan sheet could be based on that (eventDate -20 etc.). The contact names could be listed in the variables sheet and incorporated into the notes of tasks. Assignees could be listed as variables and incorporated into the plan sheet. This would mean changing the variables for each instance of the plan would instantly provide all of the specifics that would otherwise take hundreds of clicks and text pastes to correct a copied plan. The workbook could then be reused indefinitely by just revising the variables, each time creating a completed plan to import.

Export without import is useless

There isn't a way to link Project Online tasks to Planner tasks (Or create a Planner plan using tasks created in Project online). Though, there is a way to export an excel file of the Project tasks.
It would make things easy to immediately import into Planner (in the absence of a migration option).
Please add this feature as soon as possible. I should be able to export from one planner and import to another into another tenant as well.

This is a 5+ year old idea.
Are we any closer to being able to do this? I'd love to be able to import my Todoist and Asana Projects/tasks into Planner.
What's the current status of this idea? Is this under consideration? Planned? Rejected?

Import tasks from excel is required please
nous aurions également besoin de cette fonctionnalité, merci d'avance.
Hello, have this been considered already?
I know there are some options by using Power Automate, but we don't want our employees to "play" too much with Powerautomate as we risk to lose control on the regular service or the incidents/issues that using PowerAutomate wrongly could cause.
At least consider the same bulk update in Excel editor (addin) that's available to Azure Dev Ops. The experience there is seemless and deals with conflicts

I currently have a list of 'only' 29 tasks that need to be added to an existing planner in Teams. I can export list but not import. To knuckle down and do this, it will cost my customer time. Seems an obvious omission
