add tags (with tag lookup)
we have a sharepoint issue list for issue tracking that we use references to link to other lists by lookup. would be nice to be able to add a lookup column.. but tags would be great. and then sort or and search by tag.

As an accounting firm, I would like to have tags in planner so I can "tag" a task with a "client name/code). Then I can pull up all items associated with that client even if it's in a different plan. I can then prioritize for the client as a whole and watch the progress.

I was disappointed that full text search doesn't work as I wanted to use an tag system in my team. So, to have an integrated tag system would be very helpful.

This would be an excellent addition and it would improve our team's ability to search within our plans.

Tagging would enable us to have better/easier tracking of course task outside of the standard labels.

Tagging is essential. Just look at Trello!

Ability to add tags to tasks would be phenomenal. Table stakes really.

If you sort on tags, sort on the first tag and don't sort on all tags by repeating (as in outlook) tasks

Another use case: we have buckets as master categories (for example, training requests), but tasks within those categories are related to different projects and customers. If we could tag projects with customer names, that would be helpful.

Case use example: A key feature for us is to make multiple buckets (projects) and tag tasks for discussion in a meeting. The meeting will cover tasks in multiple buckets so a tag for that meeting will be created and assigned to multiple items. At meeting time, a tag search, look up or report will be used to pull up all the tasks for discussion in the meeting.
