As Mike Jordan and others point out, it would be great to be able to attach from existing SharePoint sites instead of only from Planner's library.

They have this functionality now. You can click the "new" button and the drop down will have:
List
Document Library
Page
news Post
Plan
AppSelect Plan and you can add multiple plans to each group!
Hey Microsoft... can you get someone to update/close these requests?

I feel like what we're asking for here is SharePoint functionality with Planner's UI...

Any consolidation of MS Planner and SharePoint is MUST. They should talk to each other. Ideally there should be a guide to doing this so that the products go hand in hand for the average user and its encouraged to stick to MS Products.

Being able to associate new plans with existing sharepoint sites, document libraries, etc. and having multiple plans associated with the project sites is a must for being able to use it within my company's management framework. seems like a great tool, but having to maintain the project site and group site document library makes it a non-starter. please work on this. excited to be able to use it.

I would like to see a webpart 'My Planner' showing all planner tasks for the current user - this would make for a nice dashboard feature (it is already possible for MS Project tasks)

I echo all of the thoughts/comments below.... When creating a planner hub, you should have the ability to select an existing project SharePoint site, or to create a new one. Wouldn't that be great?!

Need to be able to have plans access other SharePoint libraries for attaching files.
The attach from SharePoint feature is there, but there's no way to configure it so I can browse to pull files from my team's SharePoint library.

Planner is superb for deliveries by agile teams, however it is totally isolated. By integrating Planner with Sharepoint 365 sites, one could use Planner for follow-up of team deliveries in sprints (Sharepoint list) and projects (Sharepoint list). This would outperform most agile/scrum-applications like LeanKit, Jira etc.

Agree with James Ward. I use a sharepoint site as a project hub. I would like to use Planner in place of an excel file to track action items. It would greatly improve my experience if Planner could be integrated directly with my project sharepoint site. Otherwise, I can't justify the confusion it would cause my team by using Planner.

Would love to select a specific board or even all of Planner Plans as a section (iframe) within our existing organization page

Building on comment from Cliff McMannus... The SharePoint Tasks/Projects integration is useful for complex projects. A Planner app embedded into SharePoint would be a great complement to the existing Tasks app.

Why on earth wouldn't the new sites pull in corresponding group's planner tasks?

weird how when you create a planner it automatically creates a SP team site but you cannot link or create a plan within an existing site.

Allow planner to link to an existing site already created in sharepoint

How about a SharePoint Planner Web part that connects directly to a Plan on the Hub since the hub can't be viewed via an iFrame
