Add a kanban view to ease tracking and implement agile management
The idea is to get a kanban view, to get a more realistic tracking of tasks.

If i sort my plan by progress (instead of by Bucket) you can see a pretty nice Kanban view, imo.

I believe the functionality almost allows a Kanban view - with exception of missing key fields like story points and effort remaining - See also custom fields improvement requests.
If we also want Scrum Agile then we need the ability to create a burndown chart and for that we need a means of recording effort against and estimate for a sprint duration, which means adding a whole lot more in terms of data fields for recording Sprint start, Estimate, Effort Spent - and keeping a daily record in order to calculate the burndown.
Planner has loads of potential but I still see it as a problem child at present - severely limited in key functionality, as well as audit trail, recycle bin and admin permissions. - if only!

I believed the Task Status view provided the Kanban functionality per comments below...

I also agree. And to make it an effective Kanban board, there must be a way to move completed tasks off the board.

1000 times yes please. just make this a kanban / agile board capable platform. the differentiation is the integration with rest of O365. Basically everyone looking for a board style workflow tool is looking for kanban style board and left to right flow. planner must lose more than half of its potential user base once they realize it doesn't support that very well.

I agree. Similar like described here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CKWvmiY7f_g

This goes along with WIP limits in active buckets as well as burndown charts.
