Allow external users to view/edit tasks.
We have sub consultants that we collaborate with on a daily basis. It would be nice to have different levels of permissions to view tasks, edit tasks, and / or create tasks.
Thanks again for your feedback and support! We’re happy to announce we’ve fully released guest access to Planner users.

Also need federation with Office 365 government tenants. I feel weird asking our biggest client to sign in as a guest with a Microsoft consumer account.

Guys do this asap please it will resolve a lot of issues for all companies (i guest) thanks :)
WOOOOOOWWWWWWWW... the news reports it before the development team here reports it to its own paying customers. Just how mis-managed is this place?
Jim Reilly commented
Hurry! And please ensure that guests have restricted access (ie can't delete cards or lists/buckets).

Any news ? I was pushing for full adoption of teams and planner for all projects in the company ... but now I am in a bind ... most of our projects are with outside ressources ...

This is urgent!

+1 eagerly awaiting
I work for an IT Consulting company and it would be very useful to invite our clients to MS Teams so they can see what we're up to. We use Planner in Teams to keep everything in one place but it doesn't work with guest access.
Do we have an expected date to be in production?
We do have urgetn request for our Clients to share Planner within MSTeams as Guest
Thank you for your attention,

So will this update also allow for awarding other company 0365 users access to a specific plan and/or task without giving them entire access to the group or the group plans?
Any update on this? In Microsoft Teams we can not use planner with external Partners this is why we may go for Slack instead MS Teams.
We have a MSFT Teams training today and we learned and realized that we need external users to be able to view and edit tasks and documents. This would be a company-wide plus for us! THANK YOU!

We use Planner from within Teams almost exclusively. Now with external guest access in Teams it is inconsistent that those external users in Teams cannot participate in the Planner for that team.
Maybe your team should poach some capable developers from Teams:

I would also love an update on this

Sometimes you need to work closely with customers, partners, suppliers or consultants outside of your organization, and you need collaboration tools to make this possible.

I totally agree, guest access is crucial.
We are organizing board meetings in Groups and we would like to assign tasks to other colleagues without adding them to the group or showing them all other tasks. Basically
It should be possible to assigns tasks individually, so that they can view them only from My tasks view. Please consider that while developing new sharing capabilities.
