Ability to mention collegue in comments section
We currently don’t have any updates on this item, but it is planned and moving up on our backlog. Thank you for your feedback and patience!
The Planner Team
This is so frustrating that something that Trello had eons ago has not been added in 6 years! It is the base need for collaboration.
Currently, if I make a comment I have to Teams the colleague to tell them that I made a comment, when I could have just Teams'd them the comment, but we need the comment on the Task to track, but the colleague won't see the comment unless I Teams them… see where I am going with this? It is beyond frustrating and slows down productivity.
Been trying to convince team to move to Trello, at this point I think I will be successful before this feature is ever implemented.
To be clear, the reason we'd move is solely because of not being able to mention a colleague, we've found workarounds for all our other issues, but this is a huge dealbreaker.
This made me stop rolling out Planner within my organization.
We will re-consider it once this is available.
Hello@PlannerTeam! It is very usefull to have working mentions in comments. Please make this important upgrade!
We really need this! It's essential for proper collaboration in Teams. Right now comments are lost and worthless. And it's causing a lot of miscommunication...

@microsoft @planner Seriously? In exactly 226 days, it's been 6 years since this post was crated.
6 Years ago, we marked the second-year anniversary of Windows 10 and it seems like a decade ago.
Mentions are critical in Comments and on Checklist Tasks.
Come on, Microsoft! Seal the deal!
Can we get a timeline on where this lives in the backlog?
It would be great if you could do the same for a checklist task! Having sub-tasks as checklist items on a card would enable us to distinguish who is doing what component as a part of a larger task instead of creating multiple cards that otherwise do not have a way of being tied together.
How is this not a feature, its the base of ASANA and Monday, get it pushed already, many users including me WANT to use Planner but this is a STOPER
Dearest @planner + @microsoft.
Would love to make planner the daily driver but it needs some bedrock things like this.
Love what you are doing with Teams! Seal the deal.
come on already @Planner Team
Every day I force myself to use planner, I find more and more reasons not to move away from ASANA. This is a big one.
Its been 5 years since this was suggested. Maybe Microsoft doesn't see our comments because we cant mention them. Boom roasted.
@mentioning would be a great feature, but it seems a hopeless case as Microsoft is not giving any new progress updates on this feature.
Even if all te people assigned to a task gets the updates and communication, but at the moment the whole team assigned to the plan gets all the updates. This really is not good for collaboration,
Best thing this app could do to improve
Seriously? Is there a 3rd party app that can do it?
@Microsoft any update on this?

This will enable us to keep those interested in the tasks within planner informed as we complete tasks. Maybe even have a follow option?
2018: Microsoft: "planned and moving up on our backlog."
2021: Customers: "Uh...Hello? Anyone there? Is it possible to get an update? This is a crucial feature needed for efficient communications; your competitors offer this..."

Come on Microsoft!! You can do it!! :-D
We're losing internal customers to Asana!!!
