Planned since nearly 2,5 years ... ಠ_ಠ
Really in need of this function. We really struggle without it. We ask everyone to write a comment in when they get assigned so that in future they can get notified if comments but then every assignee gets notified. So many emails! Then people start ignoring them. Please, please can we have this feature soon!
Any update on this? seems pretty straightforward to me that one should be able to use @ to tag a colleague in the comments.
right now the only way to bring a task to someone's attention is to assign them which isn't right
@collins - hadn't realised it's been 5 years. Starting to think maybe its an impossible task for some reason. If that's the case, I wish they'd just tell us so we can move on...
Any update on this?
In 2 weeks now it will be 5 years since this was requested. 5 years for Microsoft to add a functionality to call attention to a team member in an app which is supposedly for collaboration. 5 freaking Years! Come on!
Literally a critical feature. If this isn't Planner's no.1 roadmap priority then you're bananas.
It's barely usable without it. Basic user scenario - 2 people are collaborating on a task, one person says: 'Hey @joeblogs ive just added an attachment, left a note, and here's a comment @mentioing you specifically'
Joe Blogs hasn't been notified of the attachment, the note, the comment, or even the @mention of his name. Despite being the owner of that task. It's kind of the whole point of project management. When the Teams integration was built, i thought to myself 'Ah finally! Teams collaboration!' buuuuuut nope. Still can't notify people. Even though the app is called 'Teams' - not much teamwork going on with this one!
Personally, I feel it must have been part of the MVP? Very weird!!

This is a 4 year old request with >3000 votes and the last 'we are planning on doing it' status summer of 2018. Hoping this gets more attention soon.
+1 Planner notification options are far too all-or-nothing right now. We need to be able to target team members with @ mentions, just like Teams. I'm having to dual-message in Planner and Teams right now because team members aren't reliably getting alerted on Planner cards. And for the people who _are_ getting Planner alerts, the double-tap from Teams is adding too much noise to their inbox.

make @replies possible. It's a real pan without. Getting spammed with unnecessary notifications al time long, @reply would make it much more easy !!

MICROSOFT! Please add the functionality of tagging people in the comment section of Tasks. This is so so critical for proper process flow in the kanban view!

How long will it be before we can do this please? Desperately in need of it
@planner Team: Please make this happen in the very near future! My company is currently using Trello due to this (very simple) missing feature... PLEASE ESCALATE!
This would have more votes if other such requests were merged with it. The other ones I found easily are:
and I'm sure there's many more
Please prioritise this!
This is a huge disadvantage in Planner/Teams - there's no notification to the task owner when comments are made unlesss I assign it to myself also and it holds up work, creates confusion on my own project management and is something that is table stakes in other platforms.
This has been years - your competitors have this function. When can we expect it?
