Ability to filter cards by people, labels and tags
Ability to filter the cards on a board by people, labels and tags to be able to view e.g. only the cards with a specific label or with a specific hashtag in the title

We’ve just released a Filter menu in Planner where you can filter tasks by due date, label, or assignee. You can also enter a keyword to search for a task by it’s title!
We value your suggestions and comments highly – thank you for contributing to this feature.

To send us a message, open the Office Help menu (question mark icon in right corner of Planner or Office 365 menu) and select “Feedback”. Include the word “Planner” and it’ll make it’s way to us.

Also needs to be able to filter by due date - as per Trello's:
Due in the next day
Due in the next week
Due in the next month
Overdue
Has no due date
Clear Filter -

I agree. It's very important to managers to control and strike a balance about workload of his team.

I agree with Sijbrand's comment. Our lead drafting manager does not need to see the details of every project or every person, but they do need to see the workload of everyone in their department before assigning someone to a new project.

When interacting with a tool like this, a big part of the value is the categorization and the various attributes we can define. E.g., with each of the color tags in a plan - these are not too helpful unless I can interact with the whole set - e.g. Show only red-tagged tasks, sort/group my tasks in a bucket by tag color.
If we can define an attribute on a task, that attribute should be available for sorting, filtering, and grouping as a general rule. I can look at all tasks assigned to a particular person, but I can't look at all red tasks for a particular person.

I highly recommend this proposal. Yesterday, we thought about organizing the team with Office 365 Planner. We aimed to do it like the following example shows:
Have e.g. two buckets (tasks and ideas) and display the dashboard by status. However, we also want to work with the color tags. We want to define the color tasks (e.g. red color project 1, blue color project 2, etc.) and then tag tasks with these color tags. This way, one task could be related to several color tags. Unfortunately, it is not possible to display the dashboard on the basis of the color tags.
Please, make this possible. It would help a lot, since it enables to tag one task to more projects (which sometimes is necessary) and to display it.
Thanks.

I think making filter for the different colors. For instance: adding an option for search and then filtering specific project and color.

I think filter bay label and tags should be essential

I've been using one of the labels to indicate blocked tasks, being able to filter the view by label to only see these tasks would be very useful

Definitely support tags, not just a limited number of labels. Also need to be able to tag across plans, and filter by tags.

I have a request from at user for the ability to sort by "Start day" and "Due day" will it be under this request or do I need to make a ned "idea" ?

Create tags or custom fields based on pre-defined lists (for example department ID) so you can filter on them.

Also need a way to filter by cards that I 'favorite' - this would depend on a 'favorites' feature which I will note in a separate request.

Absolutely, very useful to integrate a #/topic to find similar task. This function is already available on Yammer.
