Uploaded files to Task should be places in corresponding folder in Files
When uploading a file to a Task (to the Groups Library in SharePoint) they are placed in the root-folder.
Would it not be better if they would to be placed in a Folder named after the Bucket to keep them more organized.
Also, if you later move the file to another folder or rename it the "link" from the Tasks should be updated to reflect the change instead of break is it does currently.
Agree, when uploading file it should be choosable where to put the it.
Also agree that the link should be updated

Agreed. Global search is great, but the way we use our SharePoint Document Library this sort of organization is unusable for us.

This absolutely is a bug. The new upload Feature is great but please do it like in Teams where a Windows comes and asks where to upload the file. Thanks!
Starting using planner not so long ago, this is already an issue to manage our storage, is there any suggestions on how to overcome this?
I am thinking on storing the file in the right folder through the Sharepoint site document folder and then add just the link in the planner task.
Ideally, a feature while uploading directly in the task to decide where to store the file would be great to have.
We use planner for bug-fixes and we attach screenshots of the issue. We don't need dozens of image files in the root of the Group's shared document library.
Option 1 (good)
Obviously this will probably be a tough feature to implement since existing files are already in the root. I think you should just add the ability to change whether files should be placed in their own document library from then on. Then you can mark the document library as one of those "special, non delete-able" libraries like the "shared documents" library is.
Option 2 (Great)
In fact for most use cases where people are using Planner they just want to have their files in planner and they do not need to be accessed in any other way. So if you just had an option that said "store planner documents in shared library, yes or no" if we click "No" then it'll store them in a hidden document library from then on, out of sight out of mind
I'm using Planner for first time, and it's the first improvement that I think necessary. Everything would be more organised

With the introduction of metadata-support in Group/Files that could be an alternative to my suggestion above to use folders. Tag each file with a metadata field for Bucket and maybe also corresponding Task in planner.
This would be very helpful! Boosting effectivity and making OneDrive more organized.
Yeah, that would be really helpful. As a Basecamp user, I always found management of files to be tedious in Basecamp. You can upload files and then create links to the files that can then be posted elsewhere, or you can post a file directly onto a task or message thread, but that's a mess, too, because it makes it harder to find the files. Something to make it easier to manage files related to a project would be handy.
