Attach email to task
Now you can attach a file from desktop or from OneDrive. I would also like to attach an email to a task.

Yes, please! Ideally enable drag and drop so I can drag an email from Outlook (desktop or web) into planner. Either drop it into a bucket to create a new task, or drop it on a task to add it as an attachment.
Ideally this should link back to the original email in Outlook to be able to quickly navigate back and see latest info.
Would also be nice to be able to copy an email (ctrl-c) and then paste it into a task as an attachment -- this might be easier for many users than drag+drop.

A Drag & Drop option with outlook (desktop), and an interface to read it inside planner, not to open the sharepoint interface.

agree with comments below that I should be able to send email to the task to add comment to the task.

Tried to roll this out to a team today. This question came up within the first 5 minutes of touring MS Planner. Please add an easy way to attach an email to a task. Saving the email to a file and then having to browse isn't good enough. My users are looking to drag and drop emails from Outlook.

Are we going to be able to drag and drop e-mails into tasks or is Mr Gates busy right now?

Should also allow more than 9 attachments to a Task. Files already in Outlook or Sharepoint should be able to be limitlessly linked

I am testing planner, as a way to replace asana in my new job. The fact that I can not cc is a major obstacle. How can I link tasks with emails?

Why even have this forum...

Completely agree that this is a necessary feature.
A critical functionality that needs rectification immediately - is Drag and drop an email to attach to a task. The workaround for this requires many clicks & is completely inefficient.
Nice to have - is to be able to CC planner into emails, and have that email create a Planner task or attach to existing (Trello has all of this functionality already....)

I think there are two aspects to email integration with ms planner
1) email that can create a new task in planner
2) email that can cc in an existing planner task

I wholeheartedly agree with this previously posted comment:
This is a limitation that has created hesitation in adopting Planner in our workplace.
- It would be ideal to open the task in Planner, then be able to drag and drop files, pics, and/or emails directly into the attachments section of the task.

Any updates on this. Would be really helpful and avoid so much time searching for mails related to a task.

You can save the email to location and add it as a file.

Any updates? Even Microsoft To-Do App makes it easy to link a task to the corresponding email.
