Assign tasks to multiple users
I need to be able to assign tasks/projects to multiple users.

Thank you for all the feedback. We’ve completed the work to support assigning a task to multiple people, and it is now available for use world wide.
Thanks!

We are wanting to use Planner for our simple projects, but we MUST have the ability to add more than one person per task. When can we expect the availability of adding more than one person...or to add a group to a task? Thank you.

This is much needed feature, as per update by Planner team this is under development but any clue by when can this be expected.

Absolute necessity for even medium scale use of planner-

I agree. This and other Planner suggestions in various states of progress don't seem to have been updated for months.

We need this feature. I see posts on this request as far back as a year. How active is this development?

I watched a video about Planner on Channel 9 and this feature was referenced, so I wanted to pass along the information. The video was dated February 10, 2017 and the speaker stated that the team was working on having the feature available for "next month" (i.e. March 2017). Allowing for reasonable delays in development, I would expect to see the feature released very soon. I want to clarify that I don't have any actual information beyond what the video provided, and the statement about it being released soon is conjecture. Here is the link to the video, which also discusses the roadmap for some other features: https://channel9.msdn.com/Events/Ignite/Australia-2017/PROD224a?utm_content=buffer2f0ad&utm_medium=social&utm_source=twitter.com&utm_campaign=buffer

So glad to hear this is under development. I just discovered Planner in our 365 suite and migrated from Trello. But this missing feature is much-needed. Otherwise, I may need to switch back for our longterm system.

Development started more than 3/4 year ago. What is actually the problem to implement a 1:n relation instead a 1:1 relation. Come on guys, that should not be problem. Even a long term release plan is not really an argument, as we life in 2017 and continiuous delivery is by now common sense, so new features can be deployed und published early and regulary. You should have enough manpower to handle this in a couple of days. Please tell us, when this basic feature will be available.

This is a pretty cool blog. I appreciate your perspectives, Kevin & Robert. This product has so much potential. However, without a live update on the development of these key necessary features, I am apprehensive of introducing it to my team. #underdeveloped

I agree with Robert, Microsoft is developing a pattern of throwing new things out before they are ready for practicul use

With it current features, this product was not ready for public use. It seems like it was rushed to get out the door. Why else would not allow you assign a task to more than one person or a search function to find out who worked on a completed task.

I second Gabriel McKenna and all the others on this list.

I'd love to see a task lead and helper role, and if possible % of both e.g. 100% vs 50% for the assistant. It would help with task allocation immensely. We definitely need this in our L&D space because not everyone is able to commit 100% to a task due to other commitments.
