Gantt chart view
I want to be able to make tasks dependent on other tasks, and see them in a Gantt chart view.
We recently announced and rolled out the new Microsoft Project, which was designed specifically to help teams of all sizes collaborate on projects more efficiently and achieve more together. It was designed to be simple and powerful, so that anyone can get started quickly and take control of any project – regardless of its size – right away.
The new Microsoft Project has been redesigned. You can see your tasks on a Gantt chart (“Timeline”) view, a Board view (similar to Planner’s), and a Grid view, both requested from many of our Planner users. I encourage you to look at the links below and the attached GIF for a sneak peak.
With this, we also rolled out a new subscription plan called “Project Plan 1” that allows you to start quickly and manage projects easily via the web browser.
Thanks everyone for your patience, I encourage you to check out the new Project, and even start a trial to see if it’s right for you!

Agree with others. In our organisation, we really can't justify the cost of subscription across the board when we simply don't need the full blown project management capabilities. We just want to be able to see our tasks on a Gantt chart.
Another app will not fix this, only cause us to further stretch our workflow over more apps.
Also, custom progress descriptions… (tired of waiting on that one).
I would rather use GitHub projects (meanwhile also a Microsoft product these days) before switching to MS Project. Tasks without dependencies is IMHO a major inhibitor for serious use of MS Planner.
Not everyone who is using planner is running a project, some users use it for day to day planning of tasks. Being able to report on current tasks rather than exporting the whole planner to excel would be great. As would the ability to view tasks in a Gantt chart. Come on Micosoft, you're supposed to be improving our user experience and making things more functional and intuitive. Not making things difficult by holding back essential functionality in the hope of pushing people to spend more money use Microsoft Project. This behaviour is so transparent and ruins MS's public perception.

Why could Microsoft combine great features from both products and create the greatest rather than 2 incomplete products that cannot fully satisfy users' needs? I will be so happy if MS Planner offers a Gantt chart feature.

I know that online slot machines are becoming increasingly popular. Although mostly played in casinos or poker. With the technology of the 21st century, everyone has switched to online. On the one hand it's cool and cool, of course you don't have to be at your fingert https://mr.bet/casino/type/slot More. I don't know what this is about, but this portal. Just pour money at you without sparing it. Maybe it's my luck or I'm a fortress, but I made a lot of money with Azrat.
Hi guys, I use Project all the time, find the product great however it is no substitute for a gnat view in Teams / Planner. I have been waiting to long and will be advising my clients to switch to another product

I believe that this feature should come to Microsoft planner as soon as possible.
One more feature needs to be added to planner and that is messaging.
Messaging is essential for you.

In response to the Project and Planner teams message recommending you purchase project for the web - do NOT do this!
Project for the web is HEAVILY underdeveloped and has no connections with planner or teams. Users will not be notified if you schedule tasks to them and getting to the project is a hassle.
There is no true integration with teams (you just add a web page tab).
Most of project for the web advertising is very misleading and Project for the Web has very little development on the roadmap.
Until they do major updates Project for the Web is a terrible tool for project/task management and Planner is much more powerful.
The only thing planner is missing that Project for the web has is the gantt view and dependencies.
I am utterly disappointed in how misleading Microsoft's advertising is for Project for the Web.

I'm going to chime in here as well that task dependancies and gantt charts would be a huge boon for planner for us as well. We don't need resourcing and all the complicated structure that Project brings. We have people managing projects. Not certified Project Managers.
Yeah, Planner is gonna be more useful with this functionality.
I use both project and planner. Project is overkill for all the situations I would use planner. Sorry but Planner needs a gantt chart view.

What!, I have to get MS project license to get the Gantt Chart. I don't think that is what I am looking for. Gantt Chart in Planner please, Microsoft.
Flagged idea as inappropriate…
I pay for Planner, I would like the Gantt chart in Planner please. I guess I will just give more money to Atlassian.
With an answer like that I must ask, can you please just get rid of planner. If you are going to force us to buy project then just do that. Planner doesn't deserve to be constantly held back due Microsoft's greedy cash grab for Project. After spending millions a year on E5 licensing to sucker punch us for project (and Visio) is a relic from another time. Ether make a capable resource task management tool or do not. This lackluster middle spot between completely useless and not wanting to undercut project is upsetting your customers.
A GANTT Chart output from Planner is essential if it is to be taken seriously
having us pay for ms project isn't a viable solution
Dear Project and Planner team,
Your Gantt solution only works if we are subscribed to Microsoft Project Online. Hence, it is a useless solution. I want Gantt chart in Planner... independent of Project.
Planner is like Microsoft To-Do with extra features. I don't even know why you didn't just update To-Do with Planner features. Just give us Gantt chart in Planner instead of forcing everyone to buy Project Online to get what should have been a basic feature.
