Gantt chart view
I want to be able to make tasks dependent on other tasks, and see them in a Gantt chart view.
We recently announced and rolled out the new Microsoft Project, which was designed specifically to help teams of all sizes collaborate on projects more efficiently and achieve more together. It was designed to be simple and powerful, so that anyone can get started quickly and take control of any project – regardless of its size – right away.
The new Microsoft Project has been redesigned. You can see your tasks on a Gantt chart (“Timeline”) view, a Board view (similar to Planner’s), and a Grid view, both requested from many of our Planner users. I encourage you to look at the links below and the attached GIF for a sneak peak.
With this, we also rolled out a new subscription plan called “Project Plan 1” that allows you to start quickly and manage projects easily via the web browser.
Thanks everyone for your patience, I encourage you to check out the new Project, and even start a trial to see if it’s right for you!

Will something happen here? I just need a yes or no by MS. Looking for other tools otherwise.
It's unbelievable that the top request with 11K votes has a response that outlines a feature from another product! This is the Planner user voice! Planner is worthless without the ability for managers to manage, and no response from MS seems to indicate they agree or even realize this. I mean, who is designing the product, a HS intern with a Sharepoint cert? The lack of Gantt charts and the ability to see workload by team member shows MS is not serious about Planner as anything beyond a individual's to-do list, not a Team execution/management app.
I'm astonished how abandoned Planner really is. You guys present colorful boards as a new feature while so many more important stuff is really overdue.
It is sad.
Is there any timeline for gannt in planner??

Planner Team, The problem you need to solve is this:
Project online has great integration between grid, board and timeline features. However, each of these functions are second class citizens compared to the equivalent but fragmented solutions available within office 365. For example:
* Project Grids = Microsoft Lists. But the functionality in Lists regarding validated and calculated custom fields is superior.
* Project Board = Microsoft Planner. But the functionality in Planner includes the ability to assign custom labels, group and filter by labels, tracks communications, provides good reports and it integrates in real time with email.
* Project Timeline presents Gantt chart. It is OK and neither Lists, or Planner provide Gantt charts. However, we can produce a better quality Gantt view using Power BI sourced from Microsoft Lists.
All we want is best of breed completely integrated solution.

AGAIN, this is a request for Planner, NOT Microsoft Project. Will it ever be available ? People just go with TRELLO because Planner does not have a Gantt Chart. Alas, own SHAREPOINT sports built in Gantt chart view also as once activate basic project mgmt site resource, why the heck Planner "can't" sport a simple "dependent from" task field/column and a Gantt view too?

Agreed, this would be vert useful.
Managing Projects is not about independent tasks, rather each is associated to the dependent and leading to a variable end date. Without this function Project is a fancy To Do list and extension to Outlook.
While MS project is outstanding at connecting to other MS applications, it's inability to do manage critical paths and connect tasks makes it useless for multi step projects.

I agree with so many others here... it would be great to have a gantt / timeline view in Planner.
I did trial MS Project to see if it's worth it to get the gantt, but I discovered the assigned tasks in Project don't sync with MS ToDos, whereas the tasks in Planner do sync.
I sure hope someone's listening/reading and we'll get gantt/timeline view in Planner (soon).
I agree that Planner needs the option of a Gantt Chart. Yes, Project has a Gantt Chart, a Board, and a Grid. All very nice, but Project doesn't have the Charts, labels, or other nice extras that Planner does to help classify and provide details about tasks. Planner, on the other hand, has a Board and lovely Charts, but a useless calendar instead of a Timeline. MS makes both products, so you know it can be done. MS is making it so users have to look for non-MS solutions to meet their needs for a tool that manages simple to complex tasks, all in one.
Why can't we have a basic gant chart view in Planner? it would help people when they are making plans on when stuff needs to be done. Project is overkill for this.
MS Project is a good project but will be overkill for some organisations.
I too would like to relate dependent tasks.
I've used the Copy task link and Attachment functionality but this is cumbersome.
Would be good to drag and drop one task onto another. Or Link Task functionality.
This does not compromise MS Project product but is lightweight for those that do not want fully fledged PM tool.
Project is more than my Team needs. Planner would step up greatly with this ability. It is also the most requested feature on your uservoice. And we're STILL asking for it.
Project doesn't work for us. We would like Planner to have this function, please.
Hi Planner team!!
In my case, it is pointless to use Project just to have a Gantt view...Could you please develop it in Planner so everything is integrated into a single app??
This is the NO. 1 request. It can't be hard. ALL your competitors can do it.
This is a request for Planner, not Microsoft Project. When will it be available ? People are still using other products such as Trello because Planner does not have a Gantt Chart.

Dear planner team - we want to have this feature in planner not in project. As ASANA and Instagantt in the free version do.

Now there are a lot of casinos on the Internet and everything seems fair. But often there are big problems with free versions. I know that this is not a problem - with the platform from https://jackmobilecasinos.com/muchbetter-mobile-casinos/ MuchBetter casinos . They have normal registration and technical support service works well.
All lot of low budget or open source todo applications support a gantt view, why Planner not?
Can't be that hard to allow a plan to be viewed as a Gantt chart as all the info is there, the schedule view is completely pointless.
At the very least allow it be exported easily into an Excel Gantt or just import straight into Project for those that feel the need to use it (not us)
