Provide the ability to create Plan templates with existing tasks that can then be used to create a new plan
Rather than having to create every plan from scratch it would be good if the system allowed for the creation of Templates with pre-existing tasks (like in Word/Excel). This would allow a new plan and its tasks to be created from a template saving a lot of time.
Thank you for your patience. We have updated our Copy Plan experience – please try it out today!
This improvement will include the ability to choose an existing group or team to copy the plan into (or choose to create a new group). You’ll also be able to customize what gets copied over. Attachments can only be copied over into existing groups.

Our company will need the ability to use templates. Most of our projects are very similar, and a template would greatly reduce the amount of time spent creating the plans in Planner.

This is a must have product add. Having to recreate plans repeatedly will preclude adoption for many companies.
Even just copying a task or a bucket would be nice, as well as copying a plan.

Yes to this! We do appraisal work and most jobs have a number of tasks that are always repeated from job to job.

Agree with Plan templates as we often have the same projects running for various sites. Or at least the ability to export a Plan and then we can Import that plan for other projects.

I want to be able to assign tasks to generic job done scriptions instead of just people. When the time actually comes to perform the task, then actual people can be assigned based on availability

Copy a plan and its tasks or export a plan and import to new plan
This one will probably end up being a deal breaker for my engineering company. The biggest scenarios for plans are for client projects, which generally have dozens and dozens of the same tasks for every job. Without a template that would be ludicrous.
The other scenario is recurring internal projects;like the monthly accounting close or onboarding a newly hired employee. These also would be a non-starter without some sort template, whether it be a plan template or maybe a bucket template.

This is easily my top request.
Perhaps this could be added as a cmdlet to the existing Office Groups PowerShell commands?

Asana does a pretty good job of this using its "Duplicate Plan" feature, wherein you can simply create an inactive plan as a template. This functionality would be great for any process-driven company that proceeds through well defined phases as part of a contract management procedure.
