Provide the ability to create Plan templates with existing tasks that can then be used to create a new plan
Rather than having to create every plan from scratch it would be good if the system allowed for the creation of Templates with pre-existing tasks (like in Word/Excel). This would allow a new plan and its tasks to be created from a template saving a lot of time.
Thanks for your feedback on Copy plan!
We’re planning on pursuing the following improvements to copy plan:
1) Enable users to copy a plan within an existing group
2) Copy plan in Teams
Currently we are booked through November working on three BIG initiatives, but should have an update on scheduling soon after.
In the meantime, we’d love to hear how you’re currently using copy plan and any other improvements we should pursue.
Thanks again for your patience and feedback!

That's looking great! Thank you so much. The next piece that would be awesome is the ability to copy a "bucket" in a plan.

Yikes, I didn't realize this feature was missing!! Get at it Microsoft!
Any updates? This is severely crimpling our adoption of Planner as the current ability to only create a linked Planner within the same team is useless...
any news on this?
I see the ability to "copy plan" but it literally makes a new plan and seemingly a new group?? I really want to use Planner for our group task management, but I absolutely need the ability to copy a plan into a current O365 group. It would also be nice to have a central date where you can assign each task a "week" that bounces against that central date to auto-fills the task due date.
Is live for my tenant :)
Question: in the future will there be an option to only copy the buckets and labels?
I don't want to copy all the task, I want to copy the set-up of my plan.
Is this still on track for release soon? If so, looking forward to the March release as I'm just exploring the use of Microsoft Planner on Teams and hitting this as a major roadblock for this to be a feasible tool to manage our projects.
Please make sure you can use the Copied Plan / Template in an MS Teams Channel, so tht Team member access to the plan is managed via the teamspace.
For the rest of you who feel kept out of the loop, hopefully you can take some solace in the fact that this was added to the road map in Jan of 2019 (progress). It also has a release date of march 2019.
Anything? I saw a few commits a few weeks ago for a deliverable of Q2 2019. Are we still on track for that?
Is there not a community manager for this space? To let a topic as popular as this go without update for 3 months is really disappointing. Especially considering the false representation of being in the "Final Phases".
Hi Planner Team,
Would you please provide a realistic timeline for this? We have been eager to use this option, but are not seeing a result or any info since 2 November...!?

Please could we have an update on expected release?
please give us a update
It's le long way to the top ;-(
It has been two years and still nothing but empty promises.
I don't think MS will ever release this function and if they do it will be bug-ridden.
How this function wasn't part of the original product is mind-boggling.
Looking forward to this vital improvement. Do you have any thoughts on the timeline for release? Many thanks, Natasha.
