Support individual card colors in Board view to allow visual organization of different types of work.
I recognize that the current label system has the advantage of assigning multiple colored labels to a card, but the visual indicator is too small to be useful in a busy board view. If I use color to indicate types of work flowing through the "Plan", it would be useful to scan colored cards and get a sense for what types of work were in process. It seems most online Kanban boards support this.

Here's a hack approach to achieve this: https://sharepointrepairjoint.blogspot.com/2019/02/planner-hack-add-background-colour-to.html
This is one of those examples of an absolutely obvious feature that should have been there from day 1, that have been asked for for years by users (with very good reasons). and completely ignored by Microsoft - WHY? Just add it! It cannot possibly be more than a few hours of work.
I agree, I miss this feature since moving from other Kanban tools.
Such an important feature if you want to work according to Kanban! That's the feature we miss most. There are several ideas regarding the coloring of cards / tasks. Is there any way to bring them together to give them more weight overall?
I think this has been voted here also: https://microsoftteams.uservoice.com/forums/555103-public/suggestions/19086067-planner-card-background-label-color. We need to combine these two to get more attention.
I think it can be very helpful, like in Trello - you can set plans with a color that you choose.

The VSTS way is a good one. More than colors, adding a text label will be great!
Dear Microsoft - We need a kanban boarding solution outside of Visual Studio Team Server.
