Integration into Office Groups App
The Office Groups app is already quite nice but the planner view is not included yet.

Yes, it is very necessary! More over it will be possible to plan a day using this program http://canadiangambling.mystrikingly.com/blog/video-slots-the-complete-guide-for-the-advanced-gambling-lover Cool!
YES to all comments!!
Without the planner item as part of the groups app the planner functionality is restricted and less valuable for mobile workers.

Yes I agree, in the app I'm missing also the Planner, Buckets and Taks overview.
When I write a comment in a Task in Office 365 Online, then I'm able to see the comment in the App, and add some comments.
And it's easy to have a overview of how things are going when your traveling or that you can update a Task. So MS it would be very nice if you provide customers with it!

Maybe just add a "planner" link to Office Group tabbed menu just like Conversations, Calendar, Files, Notebook etc...

I understand wanting to have separate apps so that one product can release updates without the other (and that they're being managed by separate teams) but it makes the experience feel disjointed when you have to switch apps to access a file or see a plan. Planner is dependent on groups, so it should be in the group app

Office Groups and planner really should be combined with the planner side being an optional feature of an office 365 group. Also to be able to "turn on" planner for existing groups.
