334 votes, many comments and... nothing! Microsoft, please hire one or two developer(s) and make Planner a "production-ready" application!
I absolutely agree with the comments before. Export function to excel Is a key functionality-please add!
Please urgently add an export function to planner as this is a very basic need and planner should be compatible with other office applications.
that wen be cool

Trello Export is a chrome extension with some novel ways of exporting to Excel perhaps Planner can do the same or better.

(1) Tell us how we can find out when our Local Government Enterprise license will have the Planner tile available on our application dashboard.
(2) It's very frustrating that rollout started in June and we don't have it, yet.
(3) Our Microsoft rep cannot even tell us, which is not only frustrating but unfathomable.
Thanks for listening.

Export / import to / from Project, please.
It looks like there is an existing request for this one with more votes--you may want to vote there instead. https://planner.uservoice.com/forums/330525-microsoft-planner-feedback-forum/suggestions/11116770-import-export-from-to-excel-project-etc
Currently, I click the Charts tab, then find the completed tasks, copy & paste to Excel, then match those to my original Excel list using a VLOOKUP.

Why isn't this present in the first place! It's all in the MS family!

YES PLEASE! Would be super to export this, modify and use as an update tool for senior management who don't need to scroll through all the details.

Not only export to Excel. Exporting to more semantically meaningful format like XML would be even better. This is urgent and will determine if I'd use planner for long term.
The excel import/export would be great. As would a way to add Task to Outlook based on due dates.

Share with people outside the organization and an Import/Export functionality to Excel.
Export/back-up feature please
So, I assume that MS is no longer developing this product? No response from them at all.

Export to Excel please
I agree with the import/export to/from Excel function. However, I would be very happy just to see an ability to share the Plan in read only view with other members of the organisation. I don't want to make these members of the group, but I do want others to be able to see the plan, so to be able to share as I can any other document, would be great.
Just as someone else said, my team works from the Plan, but we have to copy everything into Excel for others to see - it's just double the work.
To commercially be successful MS Planner will need to be cross platform compliant inc. Outlook, OneNote, Excel, SharePoint and a version that allows limited functionality / operational for external users/ non subscription holders.
