Timeline view to show schedule
A simple timeline view like SharePoint tasks to facilitate viewing the schedule

Hi everyone,
We recently announced and rolled out the new Microsoft Project, which was designed specifically to help teams collaborate on projects more efficiently and achieve more together. It was designed to be simple and powerful, so that anyone can get started quickly and take control of any project – regardless of its size – right away.
We’ve brought the Planner board view to the new Project! Along with this, you can see your tasks on a Timeline view, and a Grid view, both requested from many of our Planner users.
With this, we also rolled out a new subscription plan called “Project Plan 1” that allows you to start quickly and manage projects easily via the web browser.

Thanks everyone for your patience, I encourage you to check out the new Project, and even start a trial – see the attached GIF for a sneak peak!
Best,
The Project and Planner team

Improving any kind of order and scheduling of plan and tasks will make Planner a killer app!

Please add a timeline view which is tied to plan and task and also Planner hub - Plan - task. this could be used as our dashboard for internal projects

Any news on the "Thinking About it" after 1 year?

Something to represent a gant chart, or some kind of timeline visual aid. It would be much more powerful than the simple chart function.

Creation of timeline and task management can be inspired be a similar software - Teamweek, very simple to use

Will have to revert to another product simply because Planner doesn't include a timeline option.

A timeline would be nice, just like the integration with the Outlook calendar, the Integration with Outlook tasks and Wunderlist.
When you are doing this Integration, consider that depending on how users organize their work they may want to see the tasks in the calendar at the start date, the due date or another date, for example the date of a steering committee meeting (this would require a custom filed) that is a certain number of days after the start date or before the due date.
Thus, please allow for flexibility as to the date when you implement your timeline visualisation.

A timeline view must be added. Several of my users have abandoned the use of planner because it does not exist. Please add this feature.

Would you be able to improve this by just having a "Group by Due Date" under my tasks? Then the various groupings can be "overdue", "today", "tomorrow", "next day" etc. until "Following week"?

The lack of this feature makes Planner pretty useless for me.

Day two of testing, and this is the feature I'm missing most so far.

Trying to use Planner, but this feature is a key requirement. Any idea when this feature will be available? Ideally by plan or person (not just self)

The lack of this feature is the only reason I'm currently researching other options. But I really hate the idea of using (for example) MS Project Portfolio Manager, which is absurdly complex and fairly expensive, just for this.
