Timeline view to show schedule
A simple timeline view like SharePoint tasks to facilitate viewing the schedule

Hi everyone,
We recently announced and rolled out the new Microsoft Project, which was designed specifically to help teams collaborate on projects more efficiently and achieve more together. It was designed to be simple and powerful, so that anyone can get started quickly and take control of any project – regardless of its size – right away.
We’ve brought the Planner board view to the new Project! Along with this, you can see your tasks on a Timeline view, and a Grid view, both requested from many of our Planner users.
With this, we also rolled out a new subscription plan called “Project Plan 1” that allows you to start quickly and manage projects easily via the web browser.

Thanks everyone for your patience, I encourage you to check out the new Project, and even start a trial – see the attached GIF for a sneak peak!
Best,
The Project and Planner team

Day two of testing, and this is the feature I'm missing most so far.

Trying to use Planner, but this feature is a key requirement. Any idea when this feature will be available? Ideally by plan or person (not just self)

The lack of this feature is the only reason I'm currently researching other options. But I really hate the idea of using (for example) MS Project Portfolio Manager, which is absurdly complex and fairly expensive, just for this.

It is critical - without this is doesn't really let you "plan"

Its not really a Planner until it has a timeline. Just a "complicated lister"

This feature is critical for the success of Planner.
Projetc owners should be able to manage deadlines; we can manage that by the risky way, but we nedd to be able of by a timeline/deadline way. -

This feature would be very helpful

This Feature, or something similar, is Crucial for Planner. Without it, I don't know that I'm late on a task, after it is too late. I Suggest to implement this as an option on all views.
On Hub: I can check which tasks are going to finish sooner, so I can take some actions.
On My tasks: I will help prioritize my work
On Plan: We can actually achieve a timeline view by plan. This would make along with current features + external users, planner a Trello and other Apps Killer.

Planner is a great tool, but it would be outstanding with just a simple timeline view to be able to se all activiteis and buckets in a simple Gantt scheme. Please add this asap.

This seems also related to the "Gantt chart view" but without dependencies and other details. I like the idea of a more simplistic Roadmap/Timeline view to be able to summarize progress and report to execs.

The donut is another great way to do it. Just make it so "the plan" is layered over top by "actual results" as the day goes by for reviewing.

Something like https://teamweek.com or https://roadmunk.com/features together with Planner would be awesome :)

Need a timeline view for planning and reporting. Using Projectplace and Smartsheets for this functionality.

I like the roadmap view offered by roadmunk

If the task due dates are entered in the group calendar (per existing uservoice request) this would at least in part be achieved.
