Function to add more Labels
Sometimes the Labels are not enough, for example if you use it to tag different departments or functions
5,416 votesHi everyone!
Thank you so much for your feedback and sharing how you use labels. We’ve been working on improving our labels experience, and will continue to do so. With that, we are working on increasing the number of labels that you can use in Planner!

View All Tasks Assigned To a Single Person
Currently tasks can be viewed by Assigned To only within a particular Project. It would be helpful to search globally in Planner by Assigned To rather than having to review assignments Plan by Plan. This change would make evaluation of workloads much easier.
5,101 votesThanks for sharing your feedback.
We would like to hear more about how you would utilize this view. If you have a particular scenario or set of teammates for which you’d like to view tasks for, please share below!

Allow Tasks to be moved between Plans/Boards.
Currently you can only move Tasks to different Buckets within a Plan/Board. It would be very useful to be able to also copy or move them to different Plans/Boards that you are a member of.
4,972 votesThank you for your feedback! We’ve improved the ‘Copy task’ dialogue so you can chose a different plan to send a copy of a task to! We’ll be exploring and expanding the ways in which you and your team can organize work in Planner, and hope this will be a helpful step forward.
Here’s an article to learn more about this feature: https://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?linkid=872349

Hide (Archive) completed Buckets
When completing Buckets it would be nice to be able to hide them so they don't take up space, but you still keep them in the statistics.

Add new progress descriptions
The progress descriptions are too simple. You should be able to create new ones, like planning, design, testing etc.

Time tracking for cards
Track the time spent on each card by each member that worked on it would be very useful, further with reports to easily consume this information.
Besides, if tasks were imported from Project (where work hours should be set by task)... time input could help to calculate the completion status.

Be able to delete and/or edit comments
It does not appear to be possible to delete comments once posted. It would be useful to be able to delete and/or edit these comments.

Add more label colors
I can only see 6 label colors and I need 10. Is there a way to create more label colors or some other way to color code categories?
1,599 votesHi everyone!
Thank you so much for your feedback and sharing how you use labels. We’ve been working on improving our labels experience, and will continue to do so. With that, we are working on increasing the number of labels and colors that you can use in Planner!

Mark a task as a prereq or dependency on another task i.e. relationship
Would be useful to set a task as requiring another task to complete before it can change state.

Copy a task
Need the ability to copy a task, including the checklists and other items within the task. This would allow one to set up a template task, then create many tasks using that template task. This is a different request than the many copy suggestions that have been made already.
1,387 votesCopy task is now available in Planner! To use, click on a task’s details menu and select “Copy task”.

User-Defined Status/Stages
Presently, to define status of a task, there are only three options available with the user, namely, Not Started, In Progress, Complete.
Provision to user's to create more status-tags will help track the status.

Ability to filter cards by people, labels and tags
Ability to filter the cards on a board by people, labels and tags to be able to view e.g. only the cards with a specific label or with a specific hashtag in the title
912 votesWe’ve just released a Filter menu in Planner where you can filter tasks by due date, label, or assignee. You can also enter a keyword to search for a task by it’s title!
We value your suggestions and comments highly – thank you for contributing to this feature.

Assign checklist item to specific individuals
This would be great to have when it's a bigger task that has several folks working on specific elements of it.

Remember my 'group by' preference
On 'my tasks' or on a board, if I switch the 'group by' option, remember my preference for next time for that particular board.

Show completed tasks in Schedule (calendar) view
It would be helpful to have an option to show completed tasks on the calendar view to be able to look back and see all the items in process/scheduled/completed at a certain time. See what resource capacity is/was.
689 votesGood news all, you can now filter by Progress using the “Filter” menu across all views, including the Schedule view.
Currently this is only available in Planner Web, we will enable in Teams next. -

Thanks for everyone’s patience on this item. We’ve completed our first item in this space. We now set Task Activity Email Notifications (Assign and Complete) to Off By Default. Plan/Group owners can turn this setting on/off in the “Edit Plan” dialog.
We still have additional work planned in this area such as providing more granular controls to which activities will trigger notifications and more control over cases where you’ve been assigned tasks.
Thanks again for the feedback!

Provide the ability to use rich text on the card description and comments fields.
It'd be useful to be able to use rich text in a cards - formatting, bullet points, etc.

I really loved it. But I am wondering if there can be multiple task owners for one task.
I created a task, which has two owners in actual. For example, there is a presentation being conducted by two members, I should be able to make two owners instead of one.
420 votesThanks for the feedback. We’ve completed work to support assigning a task to multiple people.

Add a List view option?
Hello,
I am currently an Asana user. Do you have any plans to add a "List" view option in MS Planner? My team and I currently work in the "List" view of Asana. We tried the "Bucket / Board" view and did not like it. We would consider using MS Planner if you offered a "List" view to work from in your application.Do you have any plans to add a "List" view option in MS Planner?
Thanks
JB

Move a Plan from one Group to different Group/Team
As there is not control of the creation of Plans/Groups/Teams
sometimes a dupicate group or team or plan gets created and the ability to move these plans to a different group (the correct one) is essential. Our situation is this:
One team member has created a Team, another created a Group.
staff has used the planner from the group but some how used everything else from the team, (channels, site, files, notebook).
We want to move the planner that is attached to the Group and move it to the one with the Team. Then remove the duplicate group.389 votesHi everyone!
A workaround for this is that we’re currently rolling out improvements to the Copy Plan experience.
This improvement will include the ability to choose an existing group or team to copy the plan into. You’ll also be able to customize what gets copied over.
I will share another update when this is available to everyone through Planner’s web experience. Please let me know if this unblocks your scenario.
