  1. Please add lastModifedBy attribute

Provide a better way to allow integrating systems to detect changes within existing tasks or discover new tasks.

    1. Add a lastModifedBy attribute to the Planner Task, and

    2. Add a connector to Power Automate or Graph Api for lastModifedBy

    3. Add a connector to Power Automate or Graph Api for comments

This will need to be modified whenever any attribute within the Task aggregate is changed.

  2. Include support for Task Priority in all Power Automate actions

The value of the task priority field is not included in the output of the Power Automate actions such as "List tasks" and "Get task". Please include ALL metadata of a task in the Graph API and Power Automate actions. It is really frustrating to build an integration to Planner just to find out that an important piece of data is missing!!! Please finish the job.

  4. Finish Power Automate connector so we can copy, create and manipulate COMPLETE planner tasks

Power Automate provides connectors to copy Planner tasks to different Plans, Buckets etc. Except you only copy the name of the task and one or two other small pieces of info. What good is this? We need ability to copy the entire task and all CHECKLIST items! It is highly disappointing to think someone coded this and didn't realize people NEED the checklist items as well!

  5. Get API access with Application Permission

Azure Apps are used to get access to Graph APIs. Currently it is not possible to get access to Planner API with Application permissions. On our side it is not allowed to give users the needed permissions as delegated.
Please make application permissions also possible

  8. We really need to be able to template the tasks and apply to new projects quickly and easily without copying each task one by one

Be able to create a Template plan that when creating a new plan you are able to apply the template which will be used as a starting point for all tasks (maybe not including assigned to portion or provide that option)

  9. Add additional PowerAutomate triggers

These would be very useful to have:

    1) When a comment is added

    2) When a checklist item is completed

    3) When a task changes buckets

1 - Right now, when a comment is added, the notification goes to the group mailbox, which tends to get ignored. I'd like to get a powerautomate trigger for it, so that I could post it to a Team instead.

2 - For checklist items, if we had a trigger for it, then you could create workflow to notify others that the next checklist item in sequence is ready to be worked, for instance.

  10. Allow Planner fields to be set via PowerAutomate -

Allow the power platform to set the Planner fields of:
    1. Show on card
    2. Add label value and check
    3. Set priority and status fields.

Ultimately I would collect information via a TEAMS form, then use PowerAutomate to understand those values and set them accordingly on the Planner Card.

  11. Task @odata.etag to be updated when assignment changes

@odata.etag on task can be used to indicate that a task has been updated. However this remains the same when no task field has changed but the assignment of the task is updated. For example, if the task is assigned to an extra person, this @odata.etag will remain the same. The assignment is essentially part of the task. This has the result that one cannot determine with a single compare statement if something on the task has changed.

  13. Allow Application permission type for Planner Graph API calls

Organizations should be able to use application-only permissions to make API calls to Microsoft Graph to get planner details. This would be used in service or daemon styled applications which poll to collect usage information.

  16. Increase Graph API Permission Granularity

Requiring an app to have Group.ReadWrite.All permissions to do anything even as simple as creating a task on an existing plan is extremely excessive.

This violates a cardinal rule of security: Least Privilege.

It definitely makes sense to make the Graph API permissions for Planner significantly more granular.

  17. Remove limit of 400 items in GET tasks from plan in Graph API

When making a GET tasks from plan using Graph API it only gets 400 tasks. We already have almost 800 tasks in our plan, but the API doesn't get those.
The curl we are using is the following:
    GET /planner/plans/{plan-id}/tasks

  19. Powershell CMDLet For Planner Admins

Currently, planner is only integrated with To-Do, and the only option for calendar integration is by iCalendar feed. My organization heavily uses Outlook calendars, but there is currently no option for admins to enforce the calendar feed option and it must be selected by each individual. A powershell cmdlet that allows us to enforce this rule would be immensely helpful.

  20. For Tasks, provide a "Last Modified DateTime" attribute

Provide a better way to allow integrating systems to detect changes within existing tasks or discover new tasks.

This can be simply achieved by:
    1. Add a lastModifedDateTime attribute to the Planner Task, and
    2. Add the ability to filter the list of tasks based on a supplied lastModifiedDateTime value.

This will need to be modified whenever any attribute within the Task aggregate is changed.

Other options (that would be helpful) include (1) providing a Version Number on the Task, or (2) Guid/Checksum that changes on every change. Whilst we couldn't meaningfully filter on these, we could at least use…
